We were amazed at the level of cleanliness in the lodge. All three bathrooms were spotless, and appeared to have been fairly recently upgraded. The beds were probably the comfiest we have ever slept on. The open plan lounge, kitchen, dining area was huge and although the furniture is perhaps a little dated, it was nevertheless very well looked after and in good condition. The kitchen units could perhaps do with being replaced in the next year or two but again have been well looked after, and were very clean; however the oven, microwave and hob have obviously been replaced fairly recently and again were spotless (which is so often not the case in a rental property). There were also 2 allocated parking spaces outside the lodge. Ballater village is a 20 minute walk away, and has a nice mix of cafes and a few shops. We thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend and would not hesitate to return to Craigendarroch again.
