"We had our honeymoon on the island in 1996, and just celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary by returning. The staff at the Halvard was so nice, and so accommodating. The room was much larger than most in old Victorian hotels. It was also very quiet, I had a very nice updated bathroom and had an incredible view of Douglas Harbor. The breakfast was a nice combination of buffet and custom order, and we also ate dinner there the first night, and it was excellent. Would highly recommend staying at the Halvard."

It’s a great hotel, reception and housekeeping staff are all so helpful and create a warm friendly atmosphere. Wouldn’t stay anywhere else now."
