Forgetting Palermo? The city where the trees stretch for dozens of meters, where beauty is besieged by the ravages of time. Where it is difficult to achieve your ambitions unless you leave, far from this land on the edge of Europe.  
The best time to visit Palermo? Any time. Did you know that Palermo is, statistically, the warmest city in Italy in winter and the coolest in summer?  
  
Do you work from home? Why a grey and cold place instead of a beautiful one? Perhaps you would be envious to know that today, 26 February, it is 18°C and people are at the beach.  
  
In a quiet and elegant residential area, close to the historic and cultural centre of Palermo, a UNESCO site for Arab-Norman architecture.  
  
Entering through the gate of the complex you can park in any available private parking space.The building is just opposite the entrance where the doorman's house is located; from the main door after a few steps you are at the entrance to the flat. The door opens directly onto the very pleasant, mainly black and white dining room. The dining room continues onto a veranda with mosquito net adjoining the terrace. On the opposite side the dining room opens onto the fully equipped kitchen. The living room leads to the sleeping area: 3 bedrooms and two bathrooms; a large double bedroom with French window with mosquito net opening onto the terrace, a second bedroom with French bed with French window with mosquito net (all opening like a curtain) onto the terrace; these two bedrooms share a full bathroom. There is a third single bedroom/study with bathroom. All windows overlook the garden. The third bedroom/study and the kitchen are also equipped with fixed mosquito nets.  
  
What about Palermo? Palermo is one of the most beautiful cities in Italy and certainly its private villas - many of which you can visit - are even more beautiful and richer than in Milan, Venice, Florence. (Frankly, I don't know Naples ;-)).  
The architecture ranges from the Arab period, to the Norman period, to Gothic, Baroque and Art Nouveau without interruption. You can continue your discoveries for months.  
The museums will show you a new aspect of Italian culture. Do the French have Leonardo Da Vinci's 'Mona Lisa'? But what makes the haughty, cold beauty of her hinting smile any more beautiful than the serene, inward, profound yet sensual beauty of Antonello da Messina's 'Annunciata'?   
Churches then, not being under strict papal influence, make Christianity seem radiant when not playful.  
Lush nature frames the beauty of the architecture all year round and the mild temperatures bring joy in all seasons except, for us, January.  
 In the period from the end of September to the first weekend in November, the municipal administration opens its hidden treasures to visits, walks and unmissable experiences. Unfortunately, you will have to come back year after year to enjoy them all.  
At home you will find the brochure and my letter for a walk around the town to discover its main aspects: the Cala the old port with its castle, and the new port of Palermo for pleasure boats, the exceptional churches of Serpotta, our ice creams (they have a secret that makes them unique champions of goodness), the garden with the largest tree in Europe, the city palace with the wonderful square and the Arab-Norman wonders around it, the Cathedral, the Royal Palace, a real treasure, our Market "il Capo" where you can find gastronomic delicacies and finally the Massimo Theatre, the third theatre in Europe after the Paris Opera and the Vienna Opera. What else? The Politeama Theatre, originally built to house circuses...  
It will be difficult to leave the beauty of the city but do so and go to Mondello, our beach. I'm sure, the most beautiful in Italy, go there for a sunbath, a walk, to eat street food in the village of Mondello.   
Do you want, as I suggest, to work and spend a year in Palermo? Send your children to international school or baccalauréat? Use Via Giusti as a base to explore the unique beauty of Sicily? Extraordinary adventures among amazing islands, volcanoes as active as they are effusive, splendid seas, bold mountains, forests, relics of all the Phoenician, Greek, Roman, Arab, French, Spanish and English cultures...

#### Bel appartement bien situé

Grand et bel appartement, bien meublé et décoré. Idéalement situé dans une résidence sécurisée d'un quartier calme, proche de nombreux commerces (restaurants, pizzeria juste en face de l'immeuble, superette, boulangerie...) proche aussi de la gare de Notarbartolo (liaisons directes avec l'aéroport et la gare centrale) et des stations de bus.Bons échanges par mails avec Maria Luisa.Malheureusement, la propreté, le rangement et l'état général de l'appartement n'étaient pas à la hauteur de ce beau logement. Maria Luisa ne réside pas sur place et ceci explique sans doute cela. L'accueil n'a consisté qu'à la remise des clés et la très très rapide visite des lieux.Nous avons informé la propriétaire de ces désagréments auxquels elle nous a assurer vouloir remédier.Bon séjour, malgré tout dans cette magnifique ville.

#### Absolutely perfect

Very pleased with apartment and stay in area. Accommodation was lovely and spacious. Myself and 3 guests did not feel in any way cramped, plenty of room in the sitting room, kitchen and bathroom. Area was very nice, however there was loud traffic although that can’t be helped. There was a lovely pizzeria across the road which I would recommend any guest to use. We were able to make great use out of the amenities such as using YouTube and Netflix on the TV.

#### Home away from home

My partner and I have rented over 12 places in the last year, and Maria’s place was one of our favourites! The apartment is located in the heart of a charming locals’ neighborhood, surrounded by restaurants, groceries and nature. Everything needed for our monthly stay was walking distance. The apartment itself is EXTREMELY well equipped, the espresso machine is a nice touch :) We work remotely and had no issues working comfortably. Considering that the apartment is on the ground floor, there’s no a lot of sunlight that gets in and it can get a little noisy with dogs and cars honking. Other than that, we only have great things to say about this place, and would definitely consider coming back again! Thank you Maria for your hospitality!!

This apartment was everything I was looking for, clean, spacious and convienent. The door man saved the day when the front door lock broke. He had it fixed immediately. I would stay here again for sure.

One of the best place I've ever been. Positive points: big flat, beds very comfortable, fully equipped, a smart TV in the living room (Netflix included), the flat makes you feel at home. Negative Just in my first night: I've opened the window and mosquitos came in. If I would have to come back to Palermo I would choose this flat. Great experience here!

We spent one week in Palermo during the christmas time. The apartment looks like shown on the pictures. Everything was in good condition and very clean. Really no reasons to complain about anything. Maria Louisa is very friendly host, only I can\`t believe in the 5 Star Party.

#### Spacious apartment in secure complex

Spacious airy apartment with two full bedrooms and what I would call an office with walkthrough to the second bath that had the shower. There is a grocery around the corner and a restaurant across the street, perfect for jetlagged travelers getting settled in. There is an Enterprise car rental office within 10 minutes walk, and secure parking in the complex. The gatekeeper, Antonio was a friendly accommodating help with questions. Minor issues were the air conditioner in the sleeping quarters that didn't do much, so we slept with the living area air conditioner on and the bedroom doors open. The clothes washers wouldn't start. We were told it would be replaced. Overall it was very good; clean and comfortable.

#### It was so nice we did not want to leave. It felt like home.

We stayed at the Mausi Pisa apartment for more than two weeks. We would have been delighted never to have to leave, that's how much we liked it. We spent over two months at various rentals, mostly in Italy. This was our favorite. We also stayed at a rental in the historical center. That too was excellent. Mausi Pisa's place was outside Palermo's historical center, but nearby bus routes made it easy to get anywhere. The neighborhood was quiet and safe. A secure parking place comes with the rental. There was good grocery shopping a very short stop away. The apartment was large and beautifully furnished and equipped. We are already hoping for another stay at Mausi Pisa's place. It was a privilege to stay there.

Very well kept apartment with everything you need for your stay. Maria Luisa does a great job to making you feel welcomed in her home. Parking space was available and for anyone who rents a car there knows that having a space to park is a gift. I will definitely rent again when I will go back to visit

Very nice place to stay at Palermo, not to far to down town. The appartment is very confortable and the host is kind. Restaurant, grocery are near. At 20 min. to the beach Mondelo. Wow!

#### Lovely apartment, practically located and secure.

Very comfortable and secure accomodation in the heart of Palermo. Close to bus stop and local amenities. Host very accommodating and helpful.The apartment was tastefully decorated and equipped with all necessities. Areas with room for improvement would be : Kitchen would benefit from being modernised with cabinets . No electrical appliances(kettle, iron, hairdryer) could be used when the air conditioning was on as the fuse tripped which was inconvenient. Some more information on local transport and tourist brochures in the apartment would be helpful.
