Will explain once booked There are several lakes surrounding the Heber / Overgaard area : Woods Canyon Lake , 20 miles west of the cabin . Willow Springs Lake , 15 miles west of the cabin . Black Canyon Lake , 10 miles west of the cabin . Show Low Lake , 30 miles east of the cabin . They are stocked periodically with fish . Each lake has several species of fish .There are boat rentals at some of the lakes. When bringing a dog to the cabin please read other notes below. All of the cabin is accessible to you. You can call us anytime if you have questions or need something. Bison Ranch is ideally located to explore all the attractions and activities in the area including horseback riding to ancient petroglyphs, hiking through the tall pines and mountain biking rugged trails through flowering deserts, ancient rock art sites, fishing, boating and much more. Important notes- Bison Ranch is a quiet and friendly cabin community where local residents enjoy their peace and quiet in the evenings. No loud noises/music after 8pm please so as not to disturb neighboring cabin residents. Please respect the neighbors as you would want to be treated . Relax and enjoy your mountain retreat. Pets - we only allow dogs . Dog\`s must be on a leash at all times outside of the cabin or fenced back yard and you must pick up any poop and deposit it in the trash or green doggie poop bins located around the subdivision. If you leave the dog in the cabin alone for any reason it must be in a dog crate so as not to damage anything in the cabin. The cabin was clean and cozy. The logs were in the fire pit, but it was a no burn week. No problem. Very comfortable beds, fluffy towels and nice bed linens. We spent three nights at the Bear Pond Cabin, and it was fantastic. The cabin was like staying at a beloved relative’s house. It was outfitted and decorated as you would your own home. The kitchen was spotless and well equipped. The master bedroom had a very comfortable king size bed with awesome sheets that were soft and warm. The big bedroom window had a great view of the trees in their autumn colors. The living room had very comfortable leather furniture and a switch-lighting gas fireplace. The bathrooms were very clean with good, high pressure and instant hot water. There was even a carved bear toilet paper holder, which counters the idea that a bear does you-know-what in the woods. Both the front and rear porches were great places to relax and have morning coffee. The fenced back yard had a fire pit with seating area and a propane grill. The neighborhood is very quiet with mostly senior owner-residents. The community area was well kept with a tennis court, basketball court and a pond full of fish; I caught at least 40 on a fly rod in one afternoon; mostly small blue gill and one bass. For big trout fishing, Silver Creek is just 50 minutes to the east, 5 miles past Show Low. Heber is a small population town located in a quiet, picturesque part of northern Arizona halfway between Payson and Show Low. The area is fairly flat with a lot of pine trees and open meadows. It’s not an exciting party place, but more suited for a relaxing get away from the heat and busy pace of Phoenix or Tucson. We would definitely like to stay here again. ##### Fred M.
