Built in 1890 the historic house sleeps 16 people! If you are looking for a perfect house in an ideal location then 28 Watkins is the place to be! The photos do not do it justice as it is one of the best historic houses in the area. The upstairs has 4 bedrooms with 3 bathrooms with the 1st floor consisting of 2 bedrooms and one small full bathroom. Also a huge fenced in backyard, outdoor grill, full kitchen, 2 TV rooms, large dining room, butlers pantry. Nice enough, but potential to be amazing if interiors and furnishings were updated. Owner was very responsive to inquiries and requests. Dishwasher was not working and Owner is aware. Recommend that owner also check all light bulbs are working, and make sure that all windows and doors are lockable, as the house is very close to downtown Oneonta and there were some homeless people in the neighborhood at night. The house is old, so expect typical things from an old house, like surprise temperature changes when someone flushed the toilet or turns on the sink, but it is well maintained. The TAC youth baseball team participated in their first Cooperstown experience and a few of the families stayed at this property. The property was perfect. It was super clean, had plenty of space for our families, a great yard for kids to play in, and was in the perfect location as it was only 5 minutes to the fields. Dave, the owner, was awesome to work with! Les, the neighbor, was super helpful, and provided some wonderful insight into Oneonta. Overall, we couldn't have been happier with our stay.
