One block from the beach & boardwalk. Steps from the walking bridge to downtown Asbury Park. Views of the ocean, Wesley Lake, The Stone Pony & Down Town Asbury. Adjacent to picturesque "Founders Park" with its flowing fountain. All amidst the charm and tranquility of peaceful, historic Ocean Grove. This fully renovated Victorian home offers three covered terraces to sit and enjoy the ocean breeze. It's everything a vacation to the shore should be. Please message us with general questions or inquiries and we will respond within 24 hours. Existing and arriving guests that require immediate assistance should call our hotline which is included with our check-in / welcome messages and posted in our lobby. Emergent voice messages will be returned promptly by our staff. The Space: This private and spacious room is located on the second floor, "Founders Park" side of the Melrose. It features an ensuite bath, Queen size bed and chaise lounge perfect for relaxing. Each suite at the Melrose features smart home technology. Smart TV's offer free access to Hulu Live or the ability to sign into your favorite streaming service. State of the art Wifi beacons provide 1000/1000 mbps internet connection through out the entire house and exterior porches. Smart locks ensure you'll always have access without having to tote around a set of keys! Guests also have complete control of the temperature within their suite. Guest Access: This is a 2nd floor unit that requires stairs for access. Guests will be provided with check-in instructions and a personal keycode 3 days prior to and the day of arrival. Upon check-in time, your keycode will activate. Simply enter the code into the keypad on the house front door and room door, and then press the button at the bottom of the keypad. You will need to complete this sequence before the backlight of the keypad times out. \*\*\*Please note, guests that did NOT book via Airbnb will need to complete our Rental Agreement prior to receiving their check-in instructions\*\*\* Due to our meticulous cleaning standards, early check-ins or late check-outs can only be accommodated based on our turnover schedule. We recommend a walk (or run) down the boardwalk. Start in Asbury Park and head south towards Ocean Grove. Walk through Bradley Beach and Avon-By-The-Sea until you reach the Belmar Bridge as you enter Belmar. Every community and every beach offers a different flavor and there are an infinite amount of places to explore. Getting Around: We're in walking distance to everything. The beach, the boardwalk, live music venues, hundreds of restaurants, bars and shops are all only a few minutes away. We're also approximately 1/2 mile to the train station with access to NYC or a 30 minute Uber ride to the NYC Ferry. Other Things to Note: Quiet hours are strictly enforced: 10PM - 8AM. We have a strictly enforced "No Pets" policy. Please be advised that interior hallways and exterior porches are monitored by video surveillance and noise monitoring systems. The wifi in my room was unusable. I couldn't get a connection to last more than a minute, including at 5:30 a.m. when I was probably the only person in building seeking service. I couldn't get the nightlight in the bathroom to work. None of these problems were serious for me. The quality of the finishes was high and the proprietor added some nice touches (very nice towels, a white noise generator, comfortable seating, a non-cheap refrigerator/freezer, a set of keys for room access.) The second floor shared balcony with a wonderful view was a nice surprise. Other guests were quiet. ##### Robert S. What I liked most about Melrose, since I'm the one who booked it, was that it was exactly how it was advertised/marketed/shown and described. I appreciate that! Half a block to a beautiful beach and boardwalk. Very clean. Nice space. Good bed and nice linens. Nice bathroom with a great shower. Window AC as needed. All communication through email and only the important details. Complimentary coffee in the morning. Easy access keyless keypad. And Ocean Grove is lovely! The hardest part was the parking and on a holiday weekend, no less. and only one afternoon we had to park a healthy distance away. Melrose had a very competitive price relative to most places around it. Our Room was a good size, especially considering the age of the house. Friends who also stayed said their rooms were a bit smaller. Porches were awesome. The coffee station was great. A car was unnecessary. From the window of my room I could see Founders Park and a corner of Wesley Lake through the trees.
