A wonderful property, we had a 2-bedroom property which was huge and had everything we needed. A good place to stay to hike and explore down on Lake Tahoe. Only negative was reception staff, they appeared to have no local knowledge when asked a couple of questions!

I will give it a 3 because the rooms are spacious and can accommodate if you have several travelers in your group. The staff such as housekeeping and maintenance were very friendly, especially Carlos. However, they have an issue with black ants and spiders. To the which we found crawling on the living room table as well as in the beds (first day in two beds and second day we had another room and one of those beds as well). We were surprised to get in the bed and found spiders in three of our beds. There was also a leak under the kitchen sink and one of the fans weren’t working (but again maintenance was accommodating). However, the front desk staff seemed okay yet not genuine. When I spoke to the manager, she didn’t really seem concerned as much about our concern with the ants and spiders. She treated it as if it were a normal occurrence for the area and no need to be concerned about the matter. Not necessarily my idea of hospitality.

Great rooms. Cabin-like cozy feel, yet very modern and updated. Great location too. Staff was very nice and pleasant. Highly recommend.

I really enjoyed my Labor Day weekend! The hotel was amazing—great staff and service overall. Sometimes it felt like we were bothering the staff if we asked for anything, but they were never rude.
My only real complaint is the Landshark Grill. The employees stand around chatting, and even when they see you waiting, they don’t acknowledge you until they’re done gossiping. When I went alone, the bartender told me “I’ll be right with you,” but forgot and served a group that arrived after me. Thankfully, the lobby bartender noticed and got my drink for me.
When I tried again, they sat me in the back, then moved me to the middle, but I still sat there with a menu for 25 minutes with no service. I finally just left. Another time, I brought my parents, who have special needs, and we weren’t greeted, offered water, or helped at all. At this point, it feels like every employee here needs retraining—or replacement. I didn’t even get to use my coupon, which was frustrating after the hotel made so many promises about the restaurant.
That said, it didn’t ruin our trip—we’re coming back in October, but we won’t be eating at Landshark. If the service is this bad, I can only imagine what the food is like. The hotel itself was fantastic, and even when some kids got rowdy at the pool, it was Labor Day, so we understood. They even played Wicked at the pool—so fun!
