It's a self checkin so they will email you a code, very easy to check in. Hotel was central and right across from the grand bath. They gave me a card to access and it was great. Bathroom is clean in the hotel room. But I would recommend using the grand bath. The room itself was clean, bed a bit hard but i was only there to sleep. Just be aware you will smell the sulfur. But more like a lingering sent. The hotel also has its own bath in the basement. The location is super convenient, and is very close to Jigokudani. There are 2 washers and 2 dryers provided which are very useful for travellers. Cons: There was a recent renovation, but I don't think the rooms were renovated much. The furniture show some wear and tear, and the amenities (such as switches) are distinctly old school. The public bath in the basement is very old and grimy-looking, which put me off. The 2 washers and 2 dryers are not enough when there are many guests.
