Stunning location by the river, where we spent the evenings in the gazebo enjoying the views and a glass of Baileys . The room was spotlessly clean with high quality bedlinen and furnishings. Also separate lounge if weather not great. The hosts make you feel so welcome and provide a lot of formation about where to eat and visit in the area. Everything about our stay was excellent. Superb host and hostess and breakfast was very tasty using local produce. Set in Elliot territory on the edge of Armstrong lands in the ancient border lands of Liddesdale, this is an excellent location to start any journey through the area in discovering the area’s rich border reiver history. Jane and Michael and the most gracious hosts you will find. Morning coffee in the gazebo over the Liddle overlooking the pastures with the sound of the Black Byrn flowing below is an experience that you will find nowhere else and one I shall treasure in my fondest memories for many years to come. I write this in trepidation, for fear that I will one day have difficulty booking my next stay here, but owe Jane and Michael my appreciation and honest review of their beautiful lodge/home. Regardless, this is a hidden gem in the heart of Reiver country that would be enjoyed by cyclists, hikers fisherman and anyone interested in enjoying this beautiful and rich land. This is a perfect stay for families or even singles or couples looking for a quiet weekend get away.
