In the unit there is a stove, sink, and small refrigerator. The bathroom is shared with 1 guest who resides next door. There is plenty of sunshine and it's very quiet at this location. Please be assured that the check in process was clear and smooth. The building is historic and has been through some things over the years, and it shows on the interior. However, the room is fully renovated and so clean, with some original details lovingly preserved. The room I had was much larger than the photos made it look and the building was very quiet. The bathroom could use improvements, ie it doesn't lock and the toilet is slow to flush; however the set up is such that nobody ever came in while I was in there, and it's fairly easy to keep people out in such an event. The location is very close to public transportation with the express and Metro-North trains a few blocks walk away. The bathroom is not connected. You have to walk out into the hallway after shower or the bathroom or brushing your teeth. There were fingernails on the chair. Me and my sister did not sleep under the sheets because it was so nasty. Do not recommend. The only nice thing about this is that it was easy access with the key to get into the building and it was a smooth leaving today. overall, one and a half stars out of five. I will give credit to the host and say that they did a good job communicating. Also, a random man entered our room at one point when we were sleeping in the morning, which was awful.Do not stay. also, the toilet does not flush. The heat would not work and I had no way of getting in touch with anyone. My key was in a lockbox and the code would not open the lockbox so I had no way of entering an exiting the building unless someone let me in it was absolutely horrible because it was freezing outside and at times I was locked out at 30 to 45 minutes at a time waiting for somebody to open the door When I communicated this to the person they said they would help me and after several hours later, ask me if I ever got into the building ##### Alice Stayed 3 nights in Feb 2025 ### 6/10 Okay #### Supriya S. Aug 6, 2025 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy #### Got the Bare Necessities Honestly, it was fine. 3 stars for average in terms of comparing places I’ve stayed at in general, but I would put 4 stars for the price point. It was particularly hot when I came into New York, so I would’ve appreciated if the room was cooled off out of courtesy, but after cranking the window AC unit and fan up it felt alright. I also wish there was a microwave, but I knew what I was getting and was able to plan for that. I’m happy the room & bathroom was clean, because that’s a must for me. Sometimes the WiFi went in and out but since I wasn’t traveling for business that wasn’t a problem.It was a reasonably quiet neighborhood in Harlem. This is coming from a really light sleeper. I was worried about being suddenly waken up, and never was (except for the streetlight outside, but the curtains thankfully blocked out most of the light). I love New York, and feel comfortable in the city, so maybe I’m not the best person to constitute what’s safe or not. However, my philosophy is that anywhere in the world can be unsafe: just be smart wherever you go, especially in big cities. If traveling and you decide to stay here, I recommend packing the following: shower shoes, or slides when moving to/from the bathroom, a compact mirror for applying makeup and washing face (so you can do this in the room since it’s hot in the bathroom), baby wipes (I have GI distress), an extra blanket if traveling and sharing the bed with someone else. ##### Supriya S. Il bagno è condiviso ma non abbiamo mai avuto problemi, era sempre libero. La cucina non è molto attrezzata, ma per fare la colazione va bene.
