Absolutely the worst maintained hotel I’d ever been in. Hair left all over the bathroom from previous guest, all the towels were old and dingy. I went to the store to buy cleaning supplies and air fresheners. The room has an old damp musty smell. The outside has clutter and apparently there are ppl who live there, they were outside arguing early in the morning. The person who checked me in was not welcoming of didn’t greet me just asked for my reservation number and ID. I’ll never be back there.

I expected more for the price. The room was nice but other than the terrace king nothing special. At this price point I would have expected the bed to be more luxurious, the bathroom had areas that needed repainting. The shampoo, conditioner and body gel were just okay. No bath salts or foam provided for the soaker tub. I did use room service and ate at the Statehouse, both were good. Would have liked their market open past 4pm given that was checkin time.

If you love the sound of train horns blaring at close proximity all night long every half hour or so, then this place is for you! The awful sleep is enough to rank this super low. The pond and inflatable wibit are a hit with the kids though, and the private cabins are clean enough and air conditioned. Hotels.com should have listed up front before booking that you must BRING YOUR OWN LINENS. We were lucky that we had some random sleeping bags and pillows with us or we would have had to buy them.

The staff, especially Roxy, were incredibly friendly, helpful, and engaging, and we really enjoyed speaking with them. The location couldn't be more perfect, especially if you’re down there with a potential UW Madison student. The room's cleanliness left a lot to be desired, especially the bathroom. The beds were comfortable, and the hotel's theming, including the room, was cute. The rooftop bar is really fun and has a great view of the Capitol. Be aware that there is a substantial number of homeless individuals who hang out in the passageway from the hotel to State Street, but that is not the fault of the hotel. Lastly, the valet service was very efficient and had in-and-out privileges.
