We left our luggage in storage after vacating our room at midday. Around 6:00 p.m., we returned to the hotel to collect our luggage. Around 6:30 p.m., we arrived at our new hotel downtown SF and that's when we realized that we had forgotten our passports in the security box of our room at the Riu Plaza! So I had to return to the Riu Plaza to collect our passports which were now in the hands of the hotel manager at the reception! Why didn't anyone from the hotel contact us, between noon and 6 p.m., to tell us that the hotel had recovered our passports forgotten in the room? Or why not leave a note on our luggage, still in storage at the hotel, to warn us we forgot our passports? It was lucky that I hadn't changed cities or worse, changed states before realizing that we had forgotten our passports at the hotel!!! I find that there was a serious failure on the part of the Riu Plaza hotel during this situation!
