Had potential but we were disappointed.
We were super excited when we saw this property on VRBO. We loved the updates, that it was in a great location, dog friendly and it offered a dock with a boat lift. While booking the management company had a great response time and answered our questions quickly.
We were to arrive on a Saturday evening. I sent in a question regarding parking of our boat the Wednesday before and did not hear back from anyone. I then had to call and email to get our check in instructions the Friday before we left.
We arrived at the home late Saturday evening. Our initial response was that it was small but very open and the updates were appreciated. When waking Sunday morning we noticed that it could be cleaned better. We appreciated that it was dog friendly but I had to wipe areas down before use due to dust and dog hair. There were balls of dog hair in various places throughout the home. The white couch was also very stained, had an oder and was covered in hair. The sink in the master bath as-well as the sink in the guest bathroom drained slow and filled up when in use. My husband had to fix it.
The outside was beautiful. I loved that the yard was completely fenced in for my dog. He loved running around and I had confidence he wouldn’t be disturbed.
The main issue we had with this home that was unexpected was the boat lift. We specifically rented this home to use the lift and have the ease of our boat on the water. Once looking at the lift the old carpet had been removed from the bunks. So there was no carpet, raw wood with staples and tacks sticking out. We were unable to use the lift because the bunks would damage the hull of our boat. We emailed the company first thing on Monday and never got a response. I reached out again on Tuesday evening. I then got a response that they would get it handled ASAP. I then received another response Wednesday stating that carpet bunks are an upgrade and that it’s not a requirement to use the lift. We responded like any boat owner would stating that carpet on the bunks is customary and the only way to insure the protection of a boat. We then received no reply back until the day before we left giving us our checkout instructions. To say that we were disappointed is understatement. We had to transport our boat to the water everyday when we purchased and paid for a location that should had enough prevented this. We also had to pay a boat ramp usage fee daily. It just was not what the listing stated that it offered.
