Several shopping centers are also close by including Kitty Hawk Kites, Surfside Plaza and The Outer Banks Mall, where you can grab your groceries and a dozen Duck Donuts for breakfast. Be sure to set aside a day to explore the other side of the island at Jockey's Ridge State Park, just a 4-minute drive from Salt Box. Climb the dune for a bird's eye view of Nags Head or use the park's public sound access to launch kayaks, SUP's or simply admire the phenomenal sunsets.
