When we originally booked this property it had a hot tub which is why we were willing to pay the price. However, between booking and our vacation the hot tub was removed and there was no adjustment or notice. For the price we expected a little more (a decent fire pit, beach area to have weeds sprayed, better air circulation). We also would have liked the dock to have some type of ladder for the kids to get in and out without climbing on rocks. The kitchen was well stocked with necessary items, the back patio is great for overlooking the water and has lots of room and it's a nice quiet area.

Spiderhouse

Not very happy paying for cleaning fee when the home was not very clean at all. Spiders and spiderwebs everywhere, icluding bedrooms. We did not have a pet with us, pet hair all over the floor. Kitchen counters where dusty. Matress where very uncomfortable also. Just was not what we had in mind for a 10 year anniversary stay. Especially to have to pay to worry about bugs.

Nice Location for Family Getaway

There were several positives for our stay at Lake Poinsett despite rather dismal weather. The cabin was cute, clean and fairly well stocked. It’s one of the only spots with a beach in that neighborhood which was a plus. The big windows in the living area provide a great view out to the lake. We enjoyed playing Horse on the basketball court in between storms. For what I paid for the rental I was happy with our stay. The vacation rental company sent a great email that was valuable for check in, but the individual contact they provided never returned any of my emails with questions. The propane tanks for the grill were empty which was the biggest disappointment. The only negatives on the property itself are that structurally there could definitely be some improvements that would make this a top notch rental. The floors are iffy in places and the roof leaked with the storms. The trek down to the dock and beach is not an easy one just as a warning. I was pretty nervous as my pregnant DIL walked down the slope. Overall we did have a great time and the property provided a mostly positive trip.
