Myers Park and Event Center Tours and Activities

Unfortunately, our stay at the Fairmont Dallas was extremely disappointing. Two of the three elevators were out of service during our stay, which meant it routinely took 10–15 minutes just to get to or from our room. For a hotel of this size and caliber, that was incredibly frustrating. Check-in was another major issue. There were only two people working the front desk, while the hotel was apparently hosting a wedding with more than 150 guests. The line to check in was 20–30 minutes long, and it seemed like nearly all of the employees were new and struggling to keep up. The valet service was just as frustrating. It took 20–30 minutes to get our car when arriving and another 20–30 minutes to retrieve it when leaving. That is simply not acceptable for a hotel charging the rates the Fairmont does. The room itself also felt dated and uninviting. It was extremely dark, with inadequate lighting, and clearly needs to be upgraded. For a hotel of this caliber, the rooms should feel brighter, more modern, and better maintained. Overall, the hotel felt seriously understaffed and poorly managed during our stay. The elevator situation, check-in delays, valet problems, and outdated, dark room made what should have been a comfortable stay unnecessarily stressful. I expected a much higher level of service and accommodations from the Fairmont Dallas.
