A bit disappointing.
After re-reading this review I can see how any one item on this list seems small and petty; but in hindsight I still stand by the list as a whole. Everything stems from management's online descriptions being less that what was expected. Yes the wifi is "free" but you are required to log in with an existing Facebook or Gmail acct you must agree to some very technical draconian privacy terms before you are allowed to surf.Yes this is a beautiful old Building and the front lobby welcome was heartwarming. But walk up one flight of stairs and you see the age of the carpeting, while all clean; it shows its age. The same can be said about the "premium" bedding. Yes everything was clean but if the online page states premium and the hotel is not the lowest price for the area. I would expect new and top quality bedding mattress and blankets. Both rooms we were offered had the same nice 70's era floral dated bedding. Yes it was all clean and fresh but disappointing that it was not our expectations. The walls in the hall and parts of the room had normal wear and tear scuff and dings. Again acceptable and not a bad thing but the hotel is priced on the higher end and I would expect that in a budget motel not this beautiful classic location. Their are more things on this list like the poor flushing toilet or the less-than-easy "free" parking but I worry about sounding pendantic. The most disappointing was how one manager tried to play my concerns down. In the end we received a discount.
