Gecko's Cottage is positioned on the absolute beachfront at Mission Beach. You almost feel as if you can touch the sea. Just a short easy stroll along the beachfront path and you are in the village of Mission Beach. If cooking is not your choice there are a number of great cafes and restaurants to choose from in The Village. Imagine lazing in bed and being lulled to sleep by the sounds of the waves lapping the beach and a cool gentle sea breeze wafting in through the louvres. On those hot nights you can always turn on the air conditioning to cool the air. Wake in the morning take a stroll along the beach before deciding if you wish to be active - snorkel the Great Barrier Reef, do a spot of fishing or take a walk through the rainforest searching out the famous Cassowary. It would not be a surprise if you decide to just laze at Gecko's Cottage. Mission Beach is a great location to holiday at. The quaint shopping village of Mission Beach offers a selection of cafes, restaurants, bars. There is also a great butcher, small supermarket and newsagent. The first and third Sunday of each month there a markets in the park at Mission Beach. It is great fun strolling around the village shops and galleries. During the stinger months (November to May) there is a stinger enclosure at Mission Beach. Woolworths Supermarket is just a 5 - 10 min drive from Mission Beach village. It is located at Wongaling Beach. Transport is not really a necessity when you stay at Geckos. It is just a short stroll to the quaint Mission Beach Shopping Village. Why not ask us to arrange bike hire and you can cycle along the beach taking in the views to Dunk Island and Family Group of islands whilst cycling to Wongaling Beach or South Mission Beach.
