Disabled access is available to the living rooms, the rear twin bedroom and the double bedroom (but not to the main bathroom and front twin bedroom) Main Description Laburnum Lodge is a three-bedroom lodge featuring one double and two twin bedrooms, one of which has an accessible ensuite wet room and can have the beds linked to form a super king. Enjoy stunning Exmoor views from the veranda. Changeover day is Saturday, and short breaks are available from October to May - 3-night weekends or 4-night weekdays. Located within a small complex of holiday lodges and cottages which is a family-run business offering 4-star self-catering accommodation. Nestled in 3-acre gardens on a tranquil lane, it's just a 5-minute drive from Minehead's shops, pubs, and restaurants, with the beach and seafront close by. Highlights: 4-star rated self-catering holiday accommodation in Exmoor Magnificent south-facing views of Exmoor National Park 1.5 miles to the seafront and sandy beach 20-minute walk to town amenities Peaceful garden with games room, putting green, swings. Owners are on-site for guidance and assistance Free Wi-Fi and ample parking Disabled access (level M2) and wet room Ideal for walking, fishing, horse riding, and the Steam Railway. Laburnum Lodge accepts up to two well behaved dogs for £20 supplement per dog. Indoor Description The kitchen is fully equipped with microwave, full size cooker,fridge freezer, toaster and kettle. There is a full range of utensils, saucepans and ovenware supplied. The large L shaped living room has wide patio windows with a veranda to the front overlooking a wide grassed area and the slopes of Exmoor and separate dining, sitting and kitchen areas. The sitting area has a five seater L shaped settee and a single armchair with a flat screen television and DVD player. The views out to the veranda and on across the valley are fabulous. The dining area is equipped with a table and chairs for up to six people. There is a laundry room on site, you will need £1 coins for the machines which the owners can supply on request at the door. Outdoor Description Laburnum Lodge is part of a small complex of lodges and cottages on the edge of Minehead. There are three acres of gardens, a children’s play area, games room, putting green and laundry room where local information and a range of guided walks from our gate can be found. All the self catering holiday cottages and lodges are well maintained and fitted to four star standards. The fully equipped laundry room is sited within 70 yards of the Lodge. The games room with table football & table tennis The putting green Children’s swing & sandpit WiFi is available free of charge. The owners live on site and are there to help with advice and assistance if required. Parking Parking for two cars next to the Lodge. Pets Description We do limit the number of dogs per Lodge to two (£20.00 per dog per visit) and ask our guests to acknowledge the privilege of being able to bring their dogs by agreeing to certain rules. These are geared to respecting other guests ability to enjoy their own holidays, protecting children on site and being able to leave the accommodation in a state to be able to be enjoyed by future guests. We ask that Dogs are kept on leads on site and are kept quiet and under control so as not to disturb other guests. We have gates on our Lodge verandas to allow dogs to move around when in the Lodge but please do not let them on the furniture and keep them out of the bedrooms. Please do not leave dogs on their own in the accommodation. Please used the dog walk area for the necessary and place any mess in the bin supplied, there are often children on site and no one would like them standing in something awful! Restricted mobility The Lodge is fully wheel chair friendly, M2 throughout apart from the smaller twin bedroom and main bathroom. Exit in case of emergency Main door exit and addition rear exit through disable twin bedroom. Christmas / New Year We decorate with Holly but otherwise leave it to guests to bring thrir own The region Minehead is the largest town on the edge of Exmoor National Park, a welcoming seaside resort on the Somerset coast with stunning views across the Bristol Channel to Wales. The town is best known as the starting point of the South West Coast Path, England's longest National Trail, which stretches 630 miles from the harbour here all the way to Poole Harbour in Dorset. A sculpture marking Mile Zero stands on the seafront near the old harbour. Minehead has been a working port since the 14th century, and the quay area retains much of its historic charm with narrow lanes and fishermen's cottages clustered at the foot of North Hill. Higher Town, the oldest part of Minehead, sits on the slopes above the harbour and is home to the medieval Church of St Michael, reached by a steep footpath known as Church Steps that winds between thatched cottages with far-reaching views over the rooftops and out to sea. The Parade and The Avenue form the main shopping streets, where you will find independent shops, cafes, restaurants, and takeaways alongside everyday services. Tesco and Morrisons supermarkets are both on the outskirts of town with long opening hours, and there are banks, a Post Office, pharmacies, and petrol stations. Blenheim Gardens, opened in 1925, provides six acres of green space in the centre of town with a bandstand, putting green, bowling green, and a pleasant cafe. The medieval village of Dunster, with its castle, yarn market, and tea rooms, is barely two miles away.
