**NEIGHBORHOOD**   
  
The Sant'Ambrogio neighborhood is one of the most evocative and multifaceted places in Milan's historic center: here, ancient silence coexists with the vibrant pace of the modern city.  
  
At the heart of the neighborhood stands the basilica of the same name, founded by Saint Ambrose between 379 and 386, today among the oldest churches in the city. Its simple Romanesque façade, quadriportico, and naves, the result of consolidation between the 11th and 12th centuries, house treasures such as the crypt containing the saint's relics, the famous Serpent of Moses, and the Golden Altar made of gold, bronze, and precious stones.  
  
In front of the basilica stands the mysterious Devil's Column, a Roman column with two legendary holes linked to a battle between the saint and the devil. A symbol imbued with medieval charm and folklore.

Via Ausonio 6 is located in the heart of the Sant'Ambrogio – Carrobbio neighborhood, one of Milan's most charming and historic areas. The address enjoys a central yet quiet location, well-served by a comprehensive public transportation network, including buses, trams, the subway, and, just a short distance away, the new M4 (blue) line. This ensures rapid connections to the city center, train stations, and all three Milan airports.  
  
Bus and Tram  
  
The area is perfectly integrated into the surface transportation network, with numerous stops within walking distance:  
  
Tram 2 runs along Via Cesare Correnti and connects the neighborhood with the historic center (Duomo, Via Torino) and the Naviglio Grande canal, all the way to Piazza Negrelli.  
  
Tram 14 passes through Via Molino delle Armi and continues toward Piazza Duomo and Via Torino, offering a convenient connection to the city center and the southwest area of ​​the city.  
  
Tram 10, a circular line that runs along Viale Coni Zugna and connects Porta Genova with the entire city center, all the way to Centrale FS.  
  
Bus 94, a circular line that connects Porta Volta with Cadorna, passing through several central areas, including Sant'Ambrogio and Città Studi.  
  
Buses 50 and 58 run along Via San Vittore, heading towards Cairoli and the Lorenteggio area.  
  
Subway

Line M1 (Red) – reachable from Cadorna FS in one stop on the M2 or a 10-minute walk, provides quick connections to San Babila, Duomo, Porta Venezia, Loreto, and all the way to Rho Fiera.  
  
M4 Line (Blue)  
  
Thanks to the recent opening of the M4 metro line, the Via Ausonio area is now also connected to the new east-west line:  
  
The De Amicis M4 stop is about a 6-7 minute walk away, taking Via Cesare Correnti or Via De Amicis.  
  
The M4 is an ideal option for quick trips to the airport and for crossing Milan from east to west without transfers.  
  
Getting to the Train Stations  
  
Central Station: M2 from Sant’Agostino to Centrale FS (estimated travel time 15-20 minutes).  
  
Cadorna FN Station: M2 towards Gessate/Cologno, 1 stop (3 minutes), or a 10-12 minute walk. Trains to Malpensa also depart from here.  
  
Garibaldi FS Station: M2 towards Gessate, about 4 stops from Sant’Agostino, 10-12 minutes.  
  
Porta Genova Station: 1 stop on the M2 line towards Assago, or walk about 10 minutes.  
  
San Cristoforo FS Station: Accessible by the M4 line (De Amicis, San Cristoforo) in about 15 minutes.

Milan Linate Airport: Direct route on the M4 line from De Amicis to Linate Airport, estimated time 20 minutes.  
  
Milan Malpensa Airport:  
  
M2 line from Sant’Agostino to Cadorna FN, then Malpensa Express (train every 30 minutes, journey time about 45 minutes).  
  
Bergamo Orio al Serio Airport:  
  
M2 line to Centrale FS, then shuttle bus (Orio Shuttle, Terravision).
