#### Go down the 210 stairs to this pristine sandy cove and enjoy the peace and isolation of its three sections.

Michelino Beach is a narrow and secluded sandy coastline adorned with large boulders and backed by the verdant cliffs of Parghelia. It has crystal-clear water of varying hues of blue that calmly lap the fine, white sand of the beach. Enjoy the utter serenity of this sheltered sandy haven between the cliffs.

Snap photos of the excellent views of the water and the rocks from the top of the cliffs. You can spot the volcanic island of Stromboli in the distance, as well as the small towns that decorate Italy’s western coastline. Descend the flight of 210 steps from the cliffs to reach the beach.

The bay’s allure is its tranquility, with few amenities or structures in the area. Make sure to bring everything you need for the day, including deck chairs, umbrellas, snacks, drinks and sunscreen. Consider joining the scuba divers and snorkelers in the transparent water of the cove.

Gaze up at the scenic rock formations of the Palombaro Cliff and the Ringa Cliff. These rocks split the cove into three small parts. Remain at the beach for sunset, when the sky darkens and turns the rocks into romantic silhouettes.

Ascend to the cliff tops to explore the quaint town of Parghelia. See the SS. Madonna of Portosalvo, one of the few historic structures that survived the area’s large earthquake in 1905\. Visit the adjacent town of Tropea for its range of historical treasures.

Note that it is free to access the beach, which is open to the public at all times. The beach may get crowded on August weekends.

Michelino Beach is in Parghelia in the northwestern part of the Vibo Valentia province in southwestern Italy. Ride the coastal train to the Parghelia Railway Station and drive north for a few minutes to reach the beach. Leave your car in a residential area and go down the steps to get to the beach. See nearby attractions, including the Tropea Port and the Toraldo Palace.

All ok ok. Weird alarm on both nights- rooms are not soundproof. Room needed a rug- just too bare. Breakfast was good. It's not the most lively place. I did like that they had a kettle in the room. That was probably the nicest thing for me.

The hotel was clean and in a great location. Staff, especially in the restaurant, were very attentive. Breakfast was delicious each morning and set us up well for the day. Lunch on our first day was also very tasty. The roof top bar was nice. Complimentary biscuits on arrival and cake in our last night was a lovely touch. The only downside was the spa. While cute, the three rooms were not worth 90 euros for an hour and a half. You would only really need an hour tops in there due to the size of the space. I also did not like the fact there was no room to change, we should have been given robes and allowed to change in our room. The steam room had steam, but no heat and after walking up the steps in the jacuzzi and the railings falling apart we came out of the spa after ten minutes. I think if this was an added extra for the hotel and use of it included in the price to stay, it would be much more reasonable. It was a shame as everything else about the hotel we loved. Comfy bed, hot shower etc. Thank you very much for a lovely stay.
