"The condition of the room itself was disappointing. The bathtub was peeling and bowed noticeably when stepped into. The bathroom ceiling appeared to be a patchwork repair job, and the walls throughout the room were in desperate need of fresh paint. The coffee maker did not work, the body wash dispenser was empty, and one of the pillowcases was stained (yellow). My room was on the second floor. The window opened fully but did not lock. Given that the hotel is located in a high-traffic area, this was particularly disturbing from a safety standpoint. Also, the windowsill was filthy. Even the breakfast was disappointing. Ironically, it appeared to be the same menu items served at the Lubbock location (which was great), but somehow the quality in Abilene was noticeably worse. Overall, I would give this hotel 2 stars."

"The room was cool-ish when we walked in, but the beds felt wet due to the humididty. There were bugs all over the room. The bathroom looked clean, but upon further observation, the shower looked filthy. The staff seemed nice and the pool looked like the best part about the hotel. It was nice for the couple of hours we needed to sleep, but not for any longer. There was also a weird smell in the room."

"This place was FILTHY. As soon as I drove up, I knew I was in trouble, but area hotels were booked up for graduations. The woman at the front desk was very nice, it the hotel clearly had some ongoing work as building arts were stacked in what should average been the dining room. That was my second clue. The room door was challenging to open and oh, the SMELL—some sort of acrid chemical odor. Third and fourth clues. Worn carpets, high I could deal with, but the sink hadn’t even been cleaned. Washed my hands and the sink didn’t drain. Had a mtg and had to drop bags and run. Returning 2-hrs later and the sink still hadn’t drained. Alerted desk and explored the rest of my non-smoking room. Cigarette burns on the comforter, stains on the couch, fridge door hadn’t been wiped in weeks or months judging by the layer of grime and dust. The TV also had streaks and there was no remote. Went to air the room using the fan, and the cover was broken along with button covers. There was a huge grease stain on the nightstand. No way I was going to get bedbugs or something from sleeping in that bed, so I bought new sheets to sleep on. I alerted the front desk to all these issues and the receptionist did her best to fix the problems. Before checking out, I asked the hotel manager to do a walkthrough and pointed out all the problems. First he gave renovations as an excuse, then said I had to talk to Expedia. Expedia says talk to the hotel. End result: I got screwed by both sides."
