4.2/5 Very Good! (1,001 reviews)
I think it is easy to say that the Fairmont properties are generally unique and offer some view into Canadian history. The Jasper Park Lodge is no different (check out the history). The Lodge is a unique experience as you are staying in log cabins! The property itself is beautiful! If you are lucky you will see the wildlife (we saw elk, deer, birds, etc. in October). From the moment my wife and I walked in the door, we felt welcomed. When I informed the hotel we were there on our honeymoon. To our surprise, they sent a bottle of sparkling wine and two desserts to the room! The accommodations are certainly dated but that's ok because the overall experience makes up for it. Now going back to the cabin in the woods, you should know we experienced an having an intruder in the cabin one night. We had a little mouse try to eat their way into a trail mix bag! Being a cabin in the woods, the mouse is understandable. The next day when we reported it to the hotel they brought a humane trap within 10 minutes and offered to replace the trail mix bag. In addition, they called us later on in the day to check in and offer any additional services/assistance that would make us feel more comfortable. As some other have mentioned, the hotel is out of the main downtown area but it is a short drive away. Overall, our experience was good and would recommend staying at the Fairmont.
