The rooftop terrace (deck chair, table and chairs) can only be reached through this apartment and offers a vast view over the idyllic roof landscape down to the sea and will be perfect for sunbathing, feasting and relaxing. Also from inside the bedrooms you will enjoy a gorgeous view of the historic city wall and the hilly landscape leading down to the coast. The comfortably arranged apartment (90 m²) has a spacious living room/kitchen (dishwasher), a comfortable living and dining room with a wide round arch, 2 bedrooms, a modern bathroom and a separate WC. The apartment was carefully and stylishly modernized. The original cotto flooring, the high set wooden beam ceilings (in all rooms), the historic ceiling paintings and variety of antiques add a special charming touch. Ideal location during every season: The apartment is an ideal starting point for Tuscan- explorations during every season: the gentle, sunny winter, the blossoming spring, the summer ideal for swimming, the warm, aroma rich fall. No matter if your are mostly interested in the culture, in taking a relaxing bath, in photographing the landscape’s beauty or being tempted by the local culinary specialties: you will feel at home while staying at our comfortable and tastefully arranged apartment. There are heating options available for the winter. Especially appealing is having a glass of wine on the rooftop terrace while enjoying a view of the sunset or having dinner at the atmosphere-rich cathedral square and enjoying the Tuscan- specialties. Also historically known places are easily reachable for one day trips due to the good highway connections. For example, Siena (60km), Florence (120 km) or Pisa (100 km). Tips on parking options are displayed at the apartment. Water and culture for adults and children: You are within 20 minutes of the sea. The light sand beaches with kilometer long pine groves belong to the most beautiful ones in all of Tuscany due to their vast extent and the picturesque bays and they are also not too overcrowded (boat rental).The very clean sea called Lago Accesa (8 km) is an alternative to the sea. Different nature parks extend you an invitation to go hiking and on exploration tours (hiking guides in bookcase). Children will be attracted to the stork and turtle park on site. For those interested in art and culture, the apartment will serve as a starting point for the exploration of Etruscan places(Vetulonia, Populonia, Roselle and Saturnia).On site and in the nearby surroundings you will find appealing cultural offers for trips: music events at old churches and monasteries, art and crafts exhibitions, walkable ore mines, traditional oil presses, historic wine cellars, local culinary festivals, antiques markets, traditional donkey and horse races.(info map on site Enjoy wine in a pinturesque landscape: Drive along the 'Strada del Vino' and taste (and buy) wine and olive oil directly from the farmers. Of special interest for wine lovers is the small city of Montalcino with its gorgeous old city district. It is the origin of one of Italy’s best wines: 'Brunello di Montalcino', which is matured in oak barrels and can be tasted everywhere on site and in the surroundings. You might combine a dégustation with a walk, a several hour hiking tour or a bicycle tour through Maremma's original landscape (rides). A special attraction are the hot water springs of Saturnia and Petriolo (bathing options). Massa Marittima is, due to its central location, best suitable for restful purposes and is located near to the sea and serves as a starting point for the sightseeing of famous Tuscan cities. Wir (2 erwachsene Paare) haben uns durchgängig wohlgefühlt: die Wohnung ist sehr geräumig, geschmackvoll und einladend eingerichtet, eben zum Wohlfühlen. Die Dachterrasse mit ihrem weitreichenden Rundumblick bis zum Meer ist umwerfend! Wir haben sie sehr genossen (unter anderem, weil wir zeitweise krank waren und so "open air" auch dort genießen konnten!). Massa Marittima ist eine interessante, entspannte Stadt, die zum Schlendern und Einkehren einlädt. Also auch, wenn man keine längeren Ausflüge machen kann, ein Ort zum Wohlfühlen. In der Nachsaison hatten wir auch das Gefühl, schon fast das "private" Massa zu erleben, sehr entspannt eben. Die Beschreibung der Wohnung, Ausstattung und Umgebung war perfekt, wir haben es genauso angetroffen, das war schön zu erleben. Wir haben große Lust, wiederzukommen. Die Wohnung ist geräumig und durchgängig authentisch und sehr stilvoll eingerichtet. Es ist alles da, was man braucht, inklusive Bedienungshinweise - man hat quasi keine Chance, etwas falsch zu machen ;) Der Blick von der Dachterrasse ist umwerfend (leider auch ab und zu der Wind), in der einen Richtung das Meer, in der anderen die Altstadt. Die Lage ist perfekt - Parkplätze gut erreichbar, aber in einer halben Minute zu Fuß im Herzen der Altstadt. Ein Coop ist noch fußläufig erreichbar, in der Altstadt gibt es zudem viele kleine Läden für den täglichen Bedarf und die besonderen Genüsse, von denen die Region ja reichlich zu bieten hat. Die Strände rund um Follonica sind mit dem Auto in weniger als einer halben Stunde erreichbar. Die Kommunikation mit den Vermietern lief unkompliziert und durchweg sehr angenehm - es gab sogar ein Wilkommensgeschenk für uns! Man wird von engen Gässchen, einem historischen Städtchen, interessanten, kleinen Museen und in der Wohnung von einer liebevollen Einrichtung und vielen Büchern und Tipps erwartet (vor allem auf Deutsch). Die Wohnung passt prima für eine vierköpfige Familie und bietet genug Raum. Die Dachterrasse ist mit kleineren Kindern nicht geeignet (steilerer Treppenaufstieg in der Wohnung, daher ist gemütliches Essen oben auch nur bedingt möglich). Es wird mit Gas gekocht und geheizt. Die Gasflaschen dafür müssen mithilfe von Anleitungen ggf. selbst ausgetauscht und ersetzt werden. Es ist alles da, was man braucht. Ein kleines Minus war lediglich, dass der Sonnenschirm auf der Dachterrasse nicht funktionstüchtig war, so dass man diesen traumhaften Teil der Wohnung nur bedingt nutzen konnte. ##### Sabine B. Die Wohnung ist wunderbar gelegen, top ausgestattet, großzügig und alles hat reibungslos funktioniert. Das Highlight ist natürlich der unvergleichliche Ausblick über Massa bis hin zum Meer von der Dachterrasse aus! Sehr empfehlenswert, um echtes italienisches Urlaubsfeeling zu bekommen! Jul 11, 2014 #### Eine echte "Traum- Wohnung" Wir (1 Ehepaar) waren vom 17.5\. - 7.6.2014 in dieser absolut geschmackvollen und liebevoll im Detail eingerichteten Wohnung. Alles ist sehr großzügig und ebenfalls praktisch (Geschirrspüler und Waschmaschine). Ebenfalls ist die Küche mit allem Geschirr und gut funktionierendem Herd und großem Kühlschrank mit Eisfach ausgestattet. Im Wohnzimmer gibt es jede Menge gute Literatur und viele nützliche Tips für Ausflüge in die Umgebung oder an einen der schönen Strände. Abends haben wir unser Glas Rotwein sehr gerne auf der schönen Piazza am Dom genossen. Der "Hit" ist die Terasse mit Blick auf die alte Stadtmauer, über die Landschaft bis zum Meer: wunderbar!! Schön auch, daß man direkt mit Italienern wohnt. Wurden ab dem 3\. Tag schon von Nachbarn freundlich gegrüßt. Wir hatten eine wunderschöne Zeit und kommen sehr gerne wieder in diese Wohnung in dem bezaubernden Massa Marittima zurück. Johanna und Wolfgang ##### Johanna S.
