Situated just 700m from the village of Torca, you’ll be in prime position for exploring the landscape of the southern side of the Sorrento peninsula on foot along the circular Sentiero delle Sirenuse, which passes close to the villa. With a wonderful private garden that plunges you straight into the vivid blues and greens of this favourite stretch of Italian coastline, you may be reluctant to spend time inside. Directly outside the villa, alfresco dining takes on a whole new meaning on the covered sea-view terrace, where a fabulous tiled outdoor kitchen with barbecue, sink and hob takes the heat out of self-catering. Several shady lawns and terraces, one with a jacuzzi and sunloungers, provide welcome spaces to soak up the sunshine and the view. Access to the laundry room is from the terrace. Extending over 120m², the interior of the villa is extremely comfortable for a family of four and, with each bedroom on a separate floor, also a good choice for two couples looking for additional privacy. The villa is attractively furnished, with terracotta flooring, original stone walls and a ground floor that comprises a living room and dining room. From the dining room, a door leads out to the terrace, and an archway leads to the traditionally tiled kitchen. The ground floor also features a guest bathroom. An internal staircase (17 steps) leads from the ground floor to the first floor and to the first bedroom and bathroom. From here, a spiral staircase (12 steps) leads to an upper floor where you’ll find a second bedroom and bathroom, a dressing room and a private terrace with heavenly sea views. Catch the train to Pompeii and Herculaneum from the Circumvesuviana Sorrento station. • The nearest beaches are 13km away, at Cala di Puolo (a sandy beach) and Marina del Cantone (stony beach). • Easy access to Positano (19km), Amalfi (36km) and Ravello (42km). • Nature and walking enthusiasts will love the easy access to the Sentiero delle Sirenuse and hiking along the rural lanes and paths through Punta Campanella. • Naples Capodichino International Airport – 60km. Escape the Amalfi Coast crowds and explore one of the prettiest parts of the Sorrento peninsula on foot • Parking: the immediate area around the villa is characterised by scenic narrow lanes which are unsuitable for cars. Although there is no parking directly outside the villa, guests can leave the car in a private garage 700m away (free). A complimentary luggage transfer service is available on arrival/departure. Whilst we recommend car rental to reach the villa, renting scooters or travelling on the local SITA bus network is the best way to get around. • Nature and hiking: the surrounding area is a walker’s paradise. At Villa Ambra, you can step straight out onto the 9km long Sentiero delle Sirenuse and follow it in either direction along the southern side of the Sorrento Peninsula. Stroll along meandering pathways through the Mediterranean scrub and pine forests, past olive groves, vegetable patches and picture-postcard villages, and enjoy mesmerising views of the Amalfi Coast, the island of Capri and the Li Galli Islands. You can also head west to the far tip of the peninsula and the walking trails around Punta Campanella and the Bay of Ieranto. • Gastronomic experiences: while an outdoor kitchen and your own private sea view make it more of an effort to venture out in the evening, it’s definitely worth at least one visit to the Michelin-starred restaurants in nearby Nerano and Sant’Agata sui Due Golfi. • The Amalfi Coast and surrounding area are one of the world’s most popular tourist spots for good reason, so we always recommend booking your holiday in May, June or September if you can. If that’s not possible, you’ll certainly avoid some of the crowds by staying in this exceptionally tranquil location. The view is beautiful, private parking was great in a gated and locked garage. Short walk from parking to Villa, locals are welcoming and friendly. Even pick you up and help take language to villa when you arrive and leave. 15/20 minute drive from Sorrento and 20/25 minute to Positano the perfect middle ground to get to both. If you come across this place whilst looking for a place to stay don’t hesitate book it you won’t regret it. Maria was especially great. We had an airline issue and she came to help us reach by phone a an English speaker. She met us at the neighborhood church to lead us to our parking spot and drove our luggage and us up to the house when we arrived. And took our luggage and us back when we had to leave. We did the cooking class at the Villa with Chef Anna and her husband - that was a highlight! Also the hike right outside the door is lovely! Only suggestion I would have is do your grocery shopping before you arrive (a good grocery in St. Agata about 2k from the house.) that way you don’t have to carry from the parking area. Maria the house manager was amazing and unless you have a very small car, you will need the help with the bags and a 12 minute walk to your car, which provided opportunities to interact with local pets and neighbors. It is a great place to relax and enjoy the home. The outdoor kitchen was great, and we had our own private cooking class there as well. The narrow roads don’t allow for most cars so there is a short walk from the designated parking spot to the Villa. Our host Maria was truly amazing. She greeted us at the meeting point, parked our car and drove us and our luggage to & from the location. She was very helpful and there for us for anything that we required. The accommodation is lovely and the hot tub overlooking the sea was magical. We had everything that we needed, and it was great to have space to spread out. The outdoor kitchen was well equipped, and the personal touches, like drinks in the fridge and some breakfast items, were very well received. There is a walk, some of which is uphill from the parking garage to the accommodation which takes around 10 minutes, so bear this in mind if you have mobility issues. It was not a problem for us and was a good way to burn off the calories from all the great food! Beautiful place. A bit difficult to get to need to walk uphill to get to the villa & the neighborhood is rundown, but when the gate to the property opened up……it was worth it.Giuseppe was great! She arranged parking for our vehicle and escorted us with our belongings directly to the property. The photos represented the property well and carried all the amenities we needed for our few days. We were so sad to leave because we had such an amazing stay This house is literally a dream! We were so sad to leave because we had such an amazing stay. The villa is absolutely beautiful, the pictures don’t even do it justice. The AC works so well in the bedrooms too. Maria was so kind she met us at a meeting point and took our bags to the villa for us. Anything we needed she was right there to support us. The outdoor kitchen was incredible. We loved making meals here. In the town there is a butcher and a small market to get a wine and other things. If you don’t rent a small car though you will need to park your car and walk to the villa because the roads are very narrow. We wished we booked a week instead of a few days. We will 100% be back here one day! Thank you so much it was such a lovely stay! Vi ble svært positivt overrasket over innendørs parkering - hvor Maria kjørte oss frem og tilbake med bagasjen vi hadde ved både innsjekk og utsjekk. Veien fra parkeringen er ellers en koselig liten gåtur med vennlige folk og dyr. Vi anbefaler virkelig å leie dette huset! Det inneholder alt man trenger +++. Die Betreuung durch Maria war immer sehr zügig und absolut freundlich.
