Come stay in one of the State's oldest homes! 1 block from the Temple property (2 blocks from the temple). 1 block from the high school, swimming pool & fairgrounds. Great location! Located near Manti Canyon-a great access to Skyline Drive. Manti is ATV friendly so you can leave directly from the cottage on your ATV. This is a perfect home for honeymoons or anniversaries. Also for larger groups don't forget to check out the Cottage's sister Property: The Manti Manor-an 1871 rock house located just kiddy corner from the cottage. We loved our stay. The kitchen was well equipped for fixing meals and the dining/living room area was comfortable to eat and relax in. The stairs are very steep and the last step coming down has a bit of a slope so be careful! Stories about the homes builder and owners history were interesting to read. The hosts let us check in a little early to accommodate our schedule. The town of Manti is very friendly. The colors on Skyline drive ( one of the reasons for our trip) were breathtaking. There were a few issues with the functionality of the home, but hey it is a very old home. Fully restored and upgraded while staying true to its pioneer roots. It is about a two minute walk to the Manti temple.The owners were more than generous with our checkout time and obviously take great pride in this historic home. The home easily fit 10 adults. But to tell you this is a real pioneer experience is an understatement. The floors flex beneath your weight and slope, and are quite dangerous if you may roll an ankle; you can literally see through to the ground level in areas. The beds may also come from the 1800s, you will feel every spring and hear every movement across the house. Just getting luggage up the steep and narrow staircase is an adventure. The hot water is minimal. When it says it sleeps 12 know that is in 3 bedrooms. Promises made by the property owner were not kept. While the owners are very kind and friendly had I understood what this home really was I may have paid to tour it but certainly not to sleep there.
