Our room including the bathroom was exceptionally clean. Disposable slippers and still and sparkling water were provided with a surprise. He was very helpful in arranging a late dinner for us. The hotel staff is amazing. The hotel is very close to the train station but reaching there with luggage can be a major issue especially at night or if the weather is bad.. the only access to the hotel is to go down through a steep hill or stairs. There is a cable car from the train station but you have to climb up the hill to the hotel. The location was amazing as it was so close to the city center of Lugano. We easily walked from the hotel to all the busiest spots in the city. Amazing food surrounds this place as well as stores for shopping. The included breakfast was pretty good as well! The only negative experience we had was with one of the staff. I was pushed into getting a drink I did not want, even after I declined it a couple of times, since they did not want what I actually wanted. And after, I had told them I wanted to pay for the drink bill right away, not put it on the room because I wanted to use a different card for the drink order. Again, same person kept pushing to put it on the room when I had told them “No” about a dozen times. Finally, he gave up and left so I could take care of it with the supportive staff at the front desk. It is an old Lugano hotel with many of the original design features still in place. It is close to the old town, the train station, and to the lake, just a short walk away. The bathroom was tiny and the shower had mildew in some cracks and crevices. The bed was comfortable. There was air conditioning.
