This is our 14th stay at the lovely Cider Mill Cottage and our 15th is booked for August.
This is our 14th stay at the lovely Cider Mill Cottage and our 15th is booked for August. We love the seclusion and the dark skies are amazing especially since we coincided with the rare alignnent of all the planets. We love the log burner in the upper lounge which gets a lot of use during our winter visits. Ludlow, Leominster and Hereford are all worth visiting and are in easy distance. Also recommended is a visit to Monkland Cheese Dairy just outside Leominster. The very large secure garden is ideal for dogs and Mortimer Forest just down the road is great for those longer walks.
This was a terrific property for our needs, nice friendly welcome from host, lots to do in Herefordshire and Shropshire. The cottage is in the middle of beautiful countryside but only a short drive from Ludlow and Leominster.
We are looking forward to returning next year.

Third or 4th visit to this cottage.
Third or 4th visit to this cottage. I don't recognise the previous reviewer's comments on this property. It is a 19th century cottage. What do they expect - a jacussi bath & rotisserie oven ? The only points they are correct on are how dog friendly it is and how helpful & friendly the owners are. We wouldn't hesitate to stay again. It is warm, comfortable & peaceful. A perfect base for visiting the many places of interest in Shropshire & Herefordshire.

We thoroughly enjoyed our break at Cider Mill Cottage.
We thoroughly enjoyed our break at Cider Mill Cottage. The cottage was cosy and comfortable and the location was great for walking. Ludlow was about 10 mins away by car with many facilities. Sue and Martin were on hand to help and advise and the village of Orleton was just lovely. A great place for a get away from it all holiday and a good rest. Will be back!

My sister and I thoroughly enjoyed our holiday.
My sister and I thoroughly enjoyed our holiday. We were able to take our dogs with us too. The garden was large, safe and very suitable for the dogs. The cottage was very unusual historically, with a large circular stone trough and wheel, used to crush apples, downstairs. The facilities offered were good.
There were enough places open for us to go walking each day with our dogs.

Our 8th time at our "home from home" with two bookings already made for next year. Great secure garden for our Jack Russell to enjoy and always a lovely welcome from the owners. Beautiful countryside, lots of places to visit especially the cheese dairy at nearby Monkland and the historic church and arches at Shobdon. Highly recommended.

We had a fabulous stay at the Cider Mill Cottage.
We had a fabulous stay at the Cider Mill Cottage. The enclosed garden was perfect for our 3 little dogs and the cottage has a great layout with plenty of room. The location is very good for exploring the area and trips into wales, particularly for us as we hadn’t visited this part of the country before. We would thoroughly recommend the cottage and have already booked our next visit!

Our 7th visit to our "home from home" and we have booked again for next year.
Our 7th visit to our "home from home" and we have booked again for next year. Our Jack Russell, Percy, loves the large secure garden and as soon as we turn into the lane he knows exactly where he is and starts to get excited. Sue and Martin are friendly hosts and a cup of tea on arrival is always welcome. However, saying that they are not intrusive but are always there should you need anything. The countryside is so beautiful and walks in nearby Mortimer Forest are highly recommended. If you just fancy sitting in the garden it is so quiet and relaxing with the birdsong, swallows and swifts flying above and the gentle sound of sheep in the field.

My sister and I had a very enjoyable and comfortable stay at The Cider Mill. Its location is ideal for exploring Shropshire, Herefordshire, Gloucestershire and even Wales - all less than an hour's drive away. With a pub serving food just 10 minutes walk down the quiet lane we couldn't have asked for more!

Our 6th visit to our "home-from-home".
Our 6th visit to our "home-from-home". We love this haven of peace and quiet. Always a friendly welcome and a cup of tea from the owners. Percy our Jack Russell loves the big secure garden and recognises when we are turning up the lane and getting close. We have booked another week in July and are looking forward to that.
