Casa Figuiera sits down a quiet one way lane towards the bottom of a steep valley. The surrounding luxury villas are dotted around the valley peeping out amongst the beautiful pine trees. The tranquility of the valley and abundance of trees and plants attracts beautiful birds such as Hoopoe, Golden Oriole, Bee Eaters, Azure Winged Magpie, amongst many others. It is a haven for birdwatchers. The villa is close to the sea which can be heard pounding the shore nearby. It is a magnificent setting and has a very special feel unique to old Vale do Lobo. We purchased this villa in 2013 primarily because of its incredible and unique setting and we have now extensively renovated it. The garden is planted with figs, olives and citrus fruit. It is beautifully lit at night and is absolutely stunning both at night and during the day. It is much admired by locals and guests and considered to be one of the most beautiful gardens in VDL. The villa has raised terraces and balconies with plenty of seating snd furniture. It is lovely to sit and enjoy the surroundings in peace and quiet and gives guests quiet areas to just be alone. Using a local well known architect, we have added a new master bedroom suite, large kitchen, swimming pool and BBQ/ outdoor dining room. We have also added a new carport, fountain and electric entrance gates. This is a superb position to be in Vale do Lobo, situated on the other side of the 17th Hole from the Donna Filipa Hotel. It is a only a 10 minute walk to the Praca and beach. The interior has been planned and fitted by a local interior designer. All the beds are new, large and superior hotel quality. The soft furnishings are mainly natural colours and Include Sanderson fabrics and Jane Churchill. The tables and outdoor furniture are Point and Provence, (hand crafted wooden furniture from Northern Portugal). We have aimed to keep the traditional feel of a Portuguese villa, whilst making it modern and fresh. All the kitchen appliances are new and regularly refreshed and updated. The L shaped kitchen is large, light and modern with black marble worktops and fitted Bosch appliances. There are bar stools to sit at and an American Fridge Freezer with ice maker. There is also a dining area furnished with Provence table and chairs. A flat screen TV has been fitted which offers UK channels. This villa is truly a home from home. Having bought four young children to Portugal over the last 12 years, we have tried to think of everything. We have therefore ensured that travel cots and high chairs are available to guests and free to use. We have tried to think of everything and will respond to special requests for your visit. If you want to go back with fresh clean laundry, we provide two washing machines for guest use. The master bedroom is double aspect opening onto a large balcony furnished with sun loungers and overlooking the pool. It is a perfect place to watch the sun go down listening to the sea. The BBQ has a two charcoal grills and a large outdoor dining area. It is furnished with Point outdoor outdoor furniture. There is a large lounge, comfortably furnished with a fireplace and flatscreen TV. THe utility room is large and as already mentioned, has two washing machines, a tumble dryer and wine cooler/ storage. It is well equipped with steam iron and ironing board. All the bedrooms have air conditioning and electric shutters. We have installed Lazer TV and internet. Wall mounted 55” LG OLED Smart TV gives you lots of channels including Sky and BT Sports, BBC, Netflix UK channels and BBC. There is also a covered terrace overlooking the swimming pool furnished with comfortable seating and table. The swimming pool at the villa is over 5mx11m. It can be heated in the cooler months and has a rigid solar powered pool cover. The seating areas around the pool allow for good sunbathing, supervision of the pool and outdoor dining. The gates are electric to provide extra security and the villa is enclosed by hedging and fencing. Vale do Lobo is beautiful all year round and many of the beach bars and restaurants remain open in spring, autumn and winter months. It is a golf, jogger and sport paradise and our prices are low (out of peak season) to encourage guests to visit at these times. The beach is also at its most beautiful as it is empty! We are members of Vale do Lobo and guests get the benefit of VDL security, 24 Hour Reception. Membership cards may be purchased by calling Vale do Lobo Reception (approx 45€ per person per week) which enable free use of circuit bus ( goes as far as Julia’s Beach), discounts to Gym, Spa, Tennis, Restaurants and free entry with towel to swimming pool at Praca. We have visited Vale Do Lobo as a family since 1979\. We have four children and it is perfect for family beach holidays, eating out at fabulous beach bars and relaxation. This villa is set in the heart of the resort on Rua Dos Pinheiros, a tranquil one-way lane with exclusive villas tucked away under the Umbrella Pines. The situation of the villa is typical of the original vision of Vale do Lobo as a five-star family resort; it provides easy, safe access to the bars and restaurants of the Praca and the glorious beach, in a short 10 min walk. The bedrooms were large, clean, and each had its own private bathroom, which made our stay even more comfortable. The house itself was very tidy and well-maintained.We especially enjoyed the beautiful, large swimming pool, which we used a lot during our stay. The location is excellent, everything is within walking distance, including a supermarket, restaurants, a golf course, and the beach.If you’re exploring the inland area, there are some great restaurants we can recommend, such as Botanico and Authentic.This villa is also highly recommended for families with children. There were 9 of us - 6 adults, one 5 year old and 2 16 month little ones. The villa has 2 cots, both of which were made up and placed in bedrooms for us and also 2 high chairs so made life very easy.The pool was amazing and was used a lot. We had cleaners mid way through the week, also a pool cleaner twice. There is so much outside space and seating depending if you are a sun or shade seeker. The bedrooms were a good size, especially the master which is huge! The kitchen is extremely well equipped - I don’t think there was a single utensil we needed that wasn’t there. It also has a good amount of children’s bowl, plates and cups. We would thoroughly recommend the villa for a joint family holiday. ##### Caroline D. The house was ideal for the group with great bedrooms and en-suites. Meticulous thought and consideration has gone into the design of the renovation of this house and it shows and should be fully appreciated, great job. We love the area and had owned two houses nearby since 2002\. To be able to walk to the Praca with kids was brilliant and for us to walk along the beach to some of our favourite beach restaurants in about 30 minutes was brilliant. The peace and tranquility in the garden around the pool was lovely. Maid and pool service were also excellent. Super place which we cannot fault - just need to find the dates to return! My family were awe struck when we arrived. Everything is clean and welcoming. There is enough china, silverware and glasses to hold a large party. The rooms are clean and spacious and so comfortable. I obtained information about the resort and local restaurants from the owner via messaging but I felt that there could be a little more information in a booklet in the property. We would have like to have more gate keys both electronic and manual but we managed well with what we had. I highly recommend this wonderful property and would happily return were I to visit Vale do Lobo again. ##### Anthony T. Pool was amazing with corner steps into the shallow end. Good sunbeds and comfortable terrace seating looking at lovely garden, as well as outside shaded dinning area with huge barbecue. One downstairs bedroom and 3 upstairs all en suite with kings beds (no twins) Large well equipped kitchen diner with huge fridge freezer with filtered cold water/ice machine. Some hilly bits for 15 min walk to beach and local restaurants at Praca. Other excellent restaurants within 15 mins taxi ride. Supermarket 20min walk with some uk kiddie staples like Weetabix . Good fresh meat & fish if cooking. TV has BBC & other U.K. channels . Blinds and air con in all rooms. Some toys for younger children plus table tennis table with bats/ balls for older ones. 30mins to Faro airport. ##### Trevor M. We were a family of 3 generations (inc. 3 children, 5 and under) and it suited everyone. The location is ideal for walking to the supermarket, Praca, golf and the beach. The villa had everything we needed, the kitchen was well equipped and the children enjoyed the selection of toys. The pool was heated which meant everyone enjoyed swimming. The host was also great. We had to change our travel dates very last minute and nothing was too much hassle. The check in/out process was really straight forward allowing us just to relax and enjoy our holiday. Unfortunately there was 2 construction sites close by during our stay which regularly spoilt our relaxation but without that, the garden was very peaceful and relaxing. And well sheltered from wind.
