The Westin Jekyll Island Beach Resort

10/10 Excellent

"We absolutely loved our stay at this hotel. Although the live music had to be moved from the rooftop deck into the main lobby because of the rain, it ended up creating one of the highlights of our trip. The lobby was full of guests enjoying the live band while others watched the FIFA championship match in the bar, creating such a lively, festive atmosphere. Peggy at the front desk was especially helpful and made us feel welcome throughout our stay. Willet’s Lowcountry was also a wonderful dining experience. Our room was beautifully appointed, and while we had been told there were no ocean-view rooms available, we were pleasantly surprised to discover we had a lovely ocean view after all. The pool area is very nice, and the hotel’s proximity to the nearby village makes it easy to walk to shops and restaurants. I also want to recognize the gentleman managing the beach chair setup. I didn’t catch his name, but he worked incredibly hard. Having beach chairs already set up for guests, along with food and beverage service directly on the beach, really elevated the resort experience. For a Four Diamond property, there were a couple of small details that could be improved. We noticed a few areas of dead grass and landscaping on the beach side of the property, and it would be a nice touch if the valet team greeted all arriving guests, even those walking in rather than driving up. Those minor observations aside, this is an outstanding property. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!"
