Tucked behind the road, we escaped the street noise, but it was still bright. It's on the second floor, up some antique stairs. We were fine, but not for everyone. The bedrooms were spacious enough, and although not huge, the living space was certainly all we needed. Great value for the price. A well equipped kitchen, linens, closet space etc... The overall location was fabulous. We could walk a few feet and be at half a dozen restaurants. At that point of our journey, we were glad to have access to a washing machine. Just a note, it took 2 days for our clothes to dry in the apartment. We did not hang them outside. That is not a complaint, just an observation. Another observation is the stairs were difficult for us to climb. On the plus side, the apartment was in a good location for what we wanted to do. Easy walk to many sites such as Rossio Square train station, hop on hop off bus, tons of restaurants. Quiet at night for sleeping except for garbage pickup in the middle of the night every night that we were there. Beds were comfortable. They provided a nice binder with much info about the city and the apartment which was helpful. Waited 45 minutes to check in because Carlotta had three checkins at the same time - not her fault. The building is very very old and unit very very small. Stairs up are very steep and narrow - we are in our seventies and managed by exercising a lot of caution. Half-sized fridge, tiny bathroom with rusty shelves, shower floor is slippery so should have a rubber mat on the floor, kitchen small but everything functional for breakfast only, otherwise we ate out. Everything is in easy walking distance. The building itself gives you an excellent vibe of old vintage Lisbon. It was a comfortable and clean apartment. The steps up are very steep, but manageable. The property manager at check in was great as well as the owner when we had to communicate with them. Very pleasant and accommodating.
