We assumed that we would be met, but apparently we needed to contact the non English speaking caretaker and our french is not conversational. Fortunately we were able to contact the owner who was able to arrange access. "We had a fantastic holiday. The gite was perfect for our family of 4 and our sons enjoyed playing in the garden and on the swings. The decoration is really nice, especially all the detail in the bedrooms! We visited Bagatelle Parc which was a full day of fun. We had a great ride on the Chemin de fer de la Somme steam railway and our sons had fun climbing at Le Parc Salomon! We have also enjoyed the nearby beaches and the funicular train at Le Treport! "This is a good enough rental but with some touches could be so much better. The biggest problem we had were the stairs to the bedroom, and if you have to use the bathroom you will be using them to descend from the loft beds. They are very narrow very steep and the bannister has come loose. This is a real safety problem and impossible for many people Throughout our stay my wife kept saying well this is how French rentals are. So you understand there was no toilet paper no paper towels no shampoo...

"While this property had many good points there was one bad point which is a big problem. Veronique and her husband were very good hosts. They let us check in early. The hot tub was great. The beds were comfortable. Great location for the beach. Bikes to use to cycle to town just 5-10 minutes. Small but well equipped kitchen/dining/lounge. The outside space would benefit from decking over the whole area as the grass was sparse and not nice to walk on...but not a major issue. If you are allergic...

"The information was inaccurate. No sauna, communal pool 6km away & Expedia clearly said linen & towels included which they tried to charge us for on arrival. Worse was the following phone calls & being rudely told to leave if we did not hand over 400 euro cash deposit which was ludicrous. Not shown on booking form. In the end I had to leave my passport with the lady who met us which was worrying. All this took 1 hour on arrival to sort which ruined the afternoon."
