We were in a small courtyard with 5 rooms sharing the small pool, but for the first 2 nights we were the only guests which was lovely. The room was large, and each room is unique. If I had 1 criticism of our room it was that the bathroom was very small. The bed was comfortable. We paid for the breakfast every morning which was delicious and very good value. And Aggeliki who helps run the place was delightful - she couldn't have been more helpful. My reasons for not giving it 5 stars are that once others arrived in rooms we kept having power cuts. Hopefully that will have been fixed now. And on the evening we arrived the gentleman who checked us in didn't offer to take my suitcase, even though it was obvious I was struggling, and when we asked for any advice on where we could get something to eat ( as there is NOTHING in Kato Drys) he made no useful suggestions and when we asked if he could call any restaurants for us he didn't help. He suggested Lefkara but everything was closed. We were there in May - I think more restaurants are open in the evenings in the Summer season months. Its a small village that gave the authenticity, peace and quiet that was promised. We were warmly welcomed by Angel, who was a fantastic host. She made tasty food, gave information and nothing was too much trouble. The rooms are spread across 3 seperate sites all within a few meters of each other, this gave us options of using either a sun terace or choice of 2 pools. We hired a car from the airport which gave us freedom to roam the nearby villages and beaches a bit further afield. A car is recommended to enjoy a varied holiday as there are no shops in the village. There was a lovely little coffee shop open in the morning a taverna 6mins walk away and several museums. There were several tavernas in Pano Lefkara (15min drive) that offer some different choices. Lovely spacious apartment with everything you need for self catering in peaceful area, great to sit back and chill out but few down points. Apartments are split over three blocks some with pools and some without. The pool bar is in one block and not open unless we told them what time we would be there. We were in a block of 6 apartments with a pool and lucky enough to have the place to ourselves as terrace around pool is very small and would be cramped if all apartments were full, wasnt particularly clean either. Location is very remote with not much to do, 10 minutes off motorway so car is a must. Hours drive to Ayia Napa or Pathos, half hour to LARNACA or Limosoll and supermarket just as your come off motorway so easy shopping for self catering. There is a taverna at the top of the road 2 minutes walk and good food, I recommend the local Tavas. Take a trip round the corner to Lafkara as very nice village with shops and bars. Unser Zimmer war ebenerdig, mit einem sehr schönem Bad, gutem Bett und origineller Deko. Das Frühstück, dass uns täglich mit vielen köstlichen regionalen Produkten serviert wurde, war ausgezeichnet. Das ganze Team ist unglaublich nett, bemüht, hilfsbereit und strahlt eine natürliche, familiäre Fröhlichkeit aus..... das machte uns den Aufenthalt zu etwas Besonderem, wir haben uns rundum wohl gefühlt. Selbst der Haushund ist ausnehmend freundlich und gemütliche. Da das Haus etwa 10 km von der Küstenstraße entfernt liegt, braucht man unbedingt ein Auto. Für uns war die Lage ideal als Ausgangspunkt für Sternfahrten zu allen wichtigen Punkten der Insel. Magnifique, d’une proprete irréprochable. L’équipe adorable. Le lieu incroyable. Il s’agit d’une rénovation de plusieurs maisons du village, en gardant l’âme du lieu mais en y ajoutant tout le confort moderne. Il y a ainsi deux piscines, un rooftop avec une vue époustouflante sur le soleil couchant, la clim dans toutes les pièces (même si les maisons sont si bien construites que nous n’en avons pas eu besoin). Un room service jusque 22h (le plateau de fruit pour 10€ est juste immense, un pur bonheur), un petit dej parfait, et des hôtes... devenus des amis. Le village de Kato Drys est lui-même sublime, à 1km des deux Lefkara fameuses qui elles sont beaucoup plus courues et moins calmes. Die Zimmer im Hotel Palatakia sind modern und funktional eingerichtet, so dass einem nichts fehlen sollte. Positiv überrascht waren wir vom Frühtstück, welches neben Wurst, Käse etc. stets frischgespressten Orangensaft und selbstgemachten, griechischen Joghurt enthielt. Abgerundet wurde es durch selbstgebackenen Kuchen und lokales Obst. Durch die besonders herzliche Art der Betreiber und ihrer Angestellten haben wir uns im Palatakia ab dem ersten Moment sehr wohl gefühlt und können dieses Hotel jedem empfehlen, der einfach mal vom Alltagsstress abschalten will.
