"Room was lovely and tastefully decorated. There was however an awful drainage smell as you entered the room. This was raised with the hotel who seemed to just mask it with an air freshener. The hot tub was huge but uncomfortable as didn't have usual moulded seats in it and few bubbles. It was also quite dirty and the wood around it warped and worn so in need of some renovation. Food was delicious, staff ok although not as attentive as other hotels we've stayed at so was waiting a while to order drinks as couldn't help yourself despite all inclusive. Pool area was lovely although usual people reserving beds for hours these should be removed if no return after an hour). Short walk to beach and yes you do need to duck your head to walk under road to access it but not bad. Husband is 5'9" and this wasn't a problem. Despite some issues we enjoyed our stay and found it very relaxing which is what we wanted."

"My husband and I stayed at Casa Blu in August for 10 nights and what an amazing place. We stayed in one of the newer private pool suites and it was perfect. The room was very spacious with generous outside space and a good sized private pool. It was impeccably clean and had all we needed. The private pool was big enough to cool down in and looked out to the sea. We got the sun from morning until about 4pm/5pm but there was shade to sit under too. The food (breakfast and lunch) was delicious and we hope they start to serve dinner in the future too. What can we say about the staff; they truly are amazing and made our stay even better. We will definitely be back and would whole heartedly recommended Casa Blu."

"Let’s start with the many positives of this experience: - location is excellent, a few steps from the beach and with bars and shops on your doorstep - rooms are very big and have a balcony, good air-conditioning and a safe - beds are long - shower pressure is excellent, the olive oil toiletries too - everything feels very clean and tidy - the pool area has many sun-beds - staff is polite and friendly and there is an app to request the time your room is made up - breakfast and dinner buffet offer good variety, were different every night and included meat fish vegetables and local specialities. Items are constantly replenished and overall I think meals are excellent value - overall, it’s a very good experience. The following would require improvement, small adjustments would allow to step up from good to excellent: - when you book a double, as a couple, you expect a double bed or at least not to have single sheets and single mattress toppers, that leave a gap between you and your partner during the night. We basically slept in separate twin beds for a week. The bed itself is ok but I didn’t enjoy the twin bed set-up or find it relaxing when on holiday with my partner! - bathroom towels are small and rather thin - the hotel’s beach has no sun-beds (but the nearby beach does at 7 euros a day) - no private parking…we had no issues street parking in October but I wonder how busy this may get in peak season - the coffee from the machine at breakfast could be better. "

"The hotel is beautiful from the outside , the executive room is not bad but not 4 stars. The staff 5/5 , very accommodating, very helpful, very friendly. I can’t find one negative criticism about the staff. The room needs upgrading, still using physical clasic key to open and lock the door. I didn’t like the furniture for 4 stars hotel. The small shampoo and shower he’ll bottle were less than convenient to use. No no toothpaste (got my electric toothbrush) . Spacious shower , spacious balcony. Only news tv channel ( that’s bad rating as I don’t watch news ) relatively small swimming pool but big enough sunbathing area. Roof place for breakfast and dinner. And I’ve heard that the owner didn’t pay the staff for 1-2 months. That’s an area for dinner in the vicinity , I only liked one ,the rest weren’t at my standard nor like. Overall I would rate the experience 3.5 the hotel and 5/5 for the staff . "

"Bella Vista is a small, family run hotel. It’s a bit of a walk to the nearest beach (40 mins) but what it offers more than compensates for this. Eli, Spiros and Melanie are the most welcoming team we have ever had the pleasure to meet. I am sorry not to know the name of the chef, the other breakfast lady and the lovely housekeeper. The location will provide a very authentic experience of Crete. Literally 5-6 walk to a square full of restaurants and Tavernas which are all excellent. And where we also booked our trip to Spinalonga with the lovely Bob. If you choose to Bella Vista as your destination, you will return from your holiday feeling restored and comforted ( if maybe 10 pounds heavier). We will return xxx"
