The Memling hotel is just fine... the beds are comfortable, the staff are helpful and friendly, and it is lovely to have an outdoor pool, with music poolside on the weekend. It is also near some great, quick restaurants to grab hummus, shawarma, or other Lebanese snacks! However, there were tiny cockroaches in my room (although the cleaning staff are amazing! I think the cockroaches are just a product of the general decline of the hotel). Consider having products on hand to repel mosquitos for poolside diners- like sprays, coils, or candles! That would be a really nice touch to elevate the experience! The prices are insane... $6USD for a can of Coke?! A $20USD+ croque madame?! It all feels a bit exorbitant. Yes, Kinshasa is expensive, but this is over the top! Anyways- overall a pleasant stay! I just think there is better value for your money in Kinshasa!

Hotel Memling has historically been one of the well-known hotels in downtown Kinshasa, but with the increasing competition in the city, the property appears to need stronger management and some updates to maintain its standard. The rooms are generally quiet, which made the stay comfortable. Check-in was also quick and efficient. However, the bathroom plumbing could use some updating, and certain finishing details throughout the property would benefit from better maintenance. Breakfast was not included in my stay, which was somewhat surprising. I also requested an iron, but unfortunately, it was never provided. One of the hotel’s strongest advantages is its location. It feels safe, and many stores, offices, and government institutions in downtown Kinshasa are within walking distance. This makes it particularly convenient for business travelers or anyone who wants to get around central Kinshasa without constantly relying on taxis. Overall, it remains a practical and well-located place to stay, but improvements in maintenance and guest services would help it compete better with newer hotels in Kinshasa

Best of the Best

I love Memling Hotel. The rooms smell wonderful, very clean and the restaurant is excellent. I highly encourage this place. The one down fall is the outside surroundings, but that is the case with every hotel in Kinshasa.
