Located in the heart of the Outer Banks, Kill Devil Hills is a town between Nags Head (to the south) and Kitty Hawk (to the north). Easy driving distance up to the 4x4 Corova Beach or down to Hatteras Island and Ocracoke. Close to dining and nightlife, grocery stores, shopping and some of the best restaurants, our home is close to everything the Outer Banks has to offer. House is three stories and offers two levels of wrap around decks for amazing views. Stairs may not be suited for small children or those requiring assistance frequently navigating stairs. RULES: We truly value your willingness and cooperation in helping to keep our home clean, safe and not damaged in any way. Renters and all members of the reservation party agree to the following house rules: 1\. Only the individual who booked the reservation can check-in into the home unless a prior arrangement or acknowledgement from the host has been made. Extra overnight guests other than those indicated on the booking reservation are not allowed. Unregistered overnight guests will be charged a $100/guest per night fee. 2\. Property is NON SMOKING and NON VAPING and a $750 ozone cleaning fee will be assessed for any smoking. The property is for residential use only and no parties are permitted. If you host a party with unregistered guests you will be charged a $500 additional cleaning fee and you will be asked to vacate the property immediately. 3\. PETS allowed with a non refundable pet fee. We love our furry friends and ask you clean up after them and keep them off the furniture. 4\. Early check in may be available upon request. Guest making the reservation will be notified on the day of check in as soon as the property is ready for check in. 5\. Late Checkouts are not allowed unless a prior arrangement has been made with the host. An additional $50 will be assessed for every 30 minutes past check out time and after 2 hours of holding the property past the indicated check out time, the guest will be assessed a full night fee. 6\. During the booking process, you will be asked to sign our rental agreement. This is a requirement to complete the booking and to stay at the property. 7\. Any violation of house rules is grounds for immediate termination of the reservation without refund. 8\. It’s a few minutes to walk to the beach access. The house was clean and had everything we needed. You can see the Wright Brothers Memorial from the balcony as well as a view of the beach. We found the house to be quite comfortable and quiet, with a huge amount of space. The internet was fast and the air conditioning and fans were so useful. The owner also provided lots of items that we needed for the beach, such as towels, chairs, umbrellas, etc. The outdoor shower was great and it was so nice that every room had it's own deck. The owner is also excellent with communication and allowed us to have a late checkout. However, there are a few things that stood out to us that need a bit of improvement. I stayed in one of the queen bedrooms (the one next to the bathroom), and I found the mattress to be extremely uncomfortable. There is a divot in the middle, so when two people sleep on the mattress, it's hard to avoid rolling into the middle. This caused a lot of back pain for my partner and I. We are also both underweight so this would be even worse for those who are on the heavier side. However, my friends said that the other mattresses didn't have the same problem, so it's probably just that one room. The second floor shower handle was also broken and we needed a screwdriver to fix it, otherwise the water couldn't shut off. However, even after fixing it, it seemed wiggly and we had to tighten it after every other use. There were also a fair amount of bugs in the house, which may have been due to the recent rain before we stayed. However, it was a bit unpleasant that we had spiders jump out at us while opening kitchen cabinets etc. Overall, I would rate the house itself as a 3.5/5, but since the owner was very prompt with communication and provided us with so many beach items as well as a late checkout, my experience was a 4/5. ##### Sarah W. Great location convenient to grocery stores and restaurants. Finding a parking spot at the nearest public beach access was a little challenging, but doable!
