When we first walked in we thought it was really small, but once we got settled in, it was the perfect size. It was myself, my husband, and my 8 year old. She loved having her own room instead of a fold out couch. The location was awesome. Super close to Mount Rushmore. There is also the 1880 train from Keystone to Hill City right up the road that we did. The track actually runs right behind the property, so we could have seen it go by if we had been there at the right time. We also went over to the Badlands, Custer State Park, Rushmore Tram adventures, the mountain coaster, Bear Country (which was awesome) and we could have done so much more if we’d been there longer. Great places to eat include Boss’ Pizza & Chicken and Ruby House. I highly recommend staying here, and I would love to stay here again. ##### Melissa M. All my husband wanted for his birthday in May was to see the monument one last time but this trip was so much more because of American Pines and their location as well as the pet friendly atmosphere. We recently rescued two pups less than a year old and this was their first trip away from home. We almost did not go because of them but Becki and Austin were fantastic. The office wasn't always available and I did want some Stronger 413 coffee but we had to leave before I really had a chance to connect with them. Our children paid for a trip to anywhere we wanted to go. We chose Mt. Rushmore and Mike found American Pines cabins. Best choice ever. We brought our grown daughter and she loved it too.
