The Barn Loft, just 7 miles east of Kanab, offers an extraordinary escape. Nestled against magnificent red cliffs, you'll experience tranquility and seclusion, far from the everyday hustle. You'll enjoy incredible red cliff views, private hiking in the sagebrush, pines, and cedars on deer trails with access to BLM and Grand Staircase cliffs, and dark night skies for amazing stargazing! Enjoy a location that's central to Zion, Bryce Canyon, Lake Powell, the North Rim of the Grand Canyon and more! Note: the owners of the home live up the street so please be mindful of them and their privacy. The Space: Your home away from home awaits at the Barn Loft! This cozy retreat features everything you need for a memorable stay, including a fully equipped kitchen (dishwasher, full-size fridge, stove, microwave, coffee maker, blender, toaster, and all the pots, pans, and baking dishes you could want). A convenient laptop area is perfect for staying connected. Enjoy a restful night's sleep in the queen bedroom, with additional sleeping space on the convertible futon in the living room. But the true highlight? The private balcony, ideal for mesmerizing stargazing under the vast Utah sky or soaking in the vibrant hues of a morning sunrise against the striking red cliffs. This property is a pet friendly property and does require a $25 pet fee if you plan on bringing your furry friends. Pet Policy: Pets are **NOT** allowed to be unattended in the home at any time, please understand and respect our policy. Guest Access: Our guests will have plenty of room to park, use of the deck and yard, and the entire loft. Please keep in mind that this is a loft on top of a barn so guests will have to climb 27 steep stairs to access house. The Neighborhood: Located out east of town where you will have plenty of peace, quiet and privacy. Owner lives on the property in a house nearby. Guests will have the opportunity to hike all over in 40 acres of private land. Up the canyon certain times of the year, there is a nice spring. There are lots of deer trails to follow as well. Please keep in mind that there are cows on the property certain times of the year, mainly in spring and summer (May-July). Please be aware that if we get a lot of rain, sometimes the dips/washes are unpassable so please don't attempt to drive a car through until the flooding stops and the dips/washes are cleared out. There's plenty to do with state and national parks nearby, but if you're looking for something more low-key for a day or two, consider the local hikes featured on the flyers in our house book: Squaw, Bunting and K-hill, all offering wonderful views. As well, Jacob Hamblin park has a playground, field, pool with slides, splash pad, and tennis/pickleball courts; Kanab City Library is nearby and often has books for sale; Ranchos Park has great baseball fields; Best Friends Animal Sanctuary has great guided tours (they welcome donations). Also consider the local restaurants, bakeries, and ice cream shops. We love some of the local tour companies; they can make your travel time far more productive and enjoyable. Many of them even offer early morning pick-ups from Kanab. Equestrian and biking trails are also available. Getting Around: This home has convenient access to Hwy 89A/89 which takes you to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, Zion and Bryce National Parks, Lake Powell, as well as the north rim of the Grand Canyon. Just minutes away from downtown Kanab, this home makes accessing local restaurants, shops, and grocery stores easy! Here in southern Utah a vehicle is required to get around in town and beyond. We recommend a 4WD vehicle with high clearance if you intend to go off-road to out of the way places. Page, AZ airport is 1 hour away; St. George, UT airport is 1.5 hours away; Las Vegas airport is 3 hours away. Gorgeous Views & Amazing Host Response The loft is just as advertised! The dogs LOVED the loft. The stairs are just as shown. Steep, but manageable. It was an amazing spot and we felt welcome. We were a late-night arrival, and for us it was a brief stopover on the way home to Colorado. Many hosts advertise dog friendly places that aren't, and this one truly is! We always LOVE animal lovers, and clearly this hostess runs cattle, and loves cats (barn cats below)! ##### Barbara H. The view in the day time was gorgeous and the nighttime stars were breathtaking! We also had the pleasure of running into Gail and getting to know some history behind the property! She told us about the property lines and where on the property we could hike! It was a literal dream for our family! ##### kirsten a. It was very spacious, clean, well equipped, very comfy bed and a with wonderful terrace giving us a view of the mesa cliffs in all their pinky orange glory. The sunsets and sunrises and star gazing were all enjoyed from this point. Everything was very easy and we used it as a base to visit Zion, Bryce Canyon and the Grand Canyon north rim. We also liked Honey’s Supermarket( great choice) and enjoyed food at Kanab Creek Bakery (French style), Wild Thyme Cafe and the excellent (but little pricey) Sego. ##### Alison A. Close to where we were hiking at Grand Canyon, Bryce and Zion National Parks. Excellent communication with rental company. Stairs to loft just as advertised. Clean, quiet. Gas grill worked great. We appreciate being able to travel with our dogs for our hiking trip. They loved quietly spying on the barn kitties and deer from the upper deck after a long day of hiking. You can see and hear the highway which I usually don't like but it also made it closer to the fun activities we had come for. It was still set back quite a ways and must quieter than traffic you hear in a typical hotel. We tried to find the hiking trails behind the house (beautiful scenery!) but didn't really know where they were. This is a good spot and they had a wonderful check in process and communication. ##### Jennifer M.
