Cappuccino bar next door, a brew pub serving IPA down the street, and no shortage of restaurants if you remembered to book in advance. Also this was a fun city to walk or use the streetcar. Room was a bit bigger than the smaller sized Japanese hotel rooms l've experienced (especially the bathroom which had a full-sized walk-in shower). Bed was very, very comfortable. Shower had a 'normal' shower head and a rainfall shower too. Good in-room amenities. It was a great area to use public transportation for our adventures. We bought a 2 day CUTE Pass from the Tourist Information Center in CenTerrace shopping area. We were able to use it on the Kagoshima City Bus, the Kagoshima City View Bus, the ferry to Sakurajima, the Island View Bus on Sakurajima, and the trams in Kagoshima. Great deal!
