Onsens are great, room onsens are also well designed and modern. Rooms are very large; ours was traditionally designed. Taiko drums at 9pm is a fun option. Don’t be afraid to walk the neighborhood and eat at a local place. The locals might be a bit surprised to see you but they will embrace your presence. Stayed in a very hot summer so be prepared if you are coming at that time.
