Sheer luxury, attentiveness, and service. The Watergate Hotel is an excellent hotel, in an excellent location. It is footsteps from the Mall as well as footsteps from Georgetown. The rooftop bar/lounge Top of the Gate offers inventive snacks and drinks, all with a view of the sparkling Potomac.

It's a good value in a hotel for this area. Right across the street from NASA headquarters with 24 hr police and security keeping a watchful eye on their building and the hotel, so it's a safe place. Inside, clean spacious rooms with a fully stocked kitchen and a comfortable bed and high quality linens and toiletries make for a restful stay. Complimentary breakfast consisted of pre-packaged breakfast sandwiches, cereal, juice and bagels, in a grab and go format during this time of Covid. The hotel got full during our stay and buffet emptied out quickly during peak hours with staff struggling to replenish in time. The pool was also closed but the fitness room was open, with good equipment. Parking in the underground garage was also a problem when the hotel was full. Otherwise, the Residence Inn lives up to Marriott's high standard of quality and we'll be staying there again next month.
