We checked in smoothly went to our room and the bedspread was dirty. Looked like someone ate a snack (cheese doodles and chocolate) and wiped their hands all over the white bedspread. So we went back to front desk and they gave us a different room. Got to the new room and the door would not open. Went back to front desk and manager followed us to the room to show it was a safety mechanism. When you put the key in you need to lift handle before opening it. This was new to us. We have stayed in many hotels including this one two weekends ago and never saw this before. This hotel is not cheap and we were a little disappointed.

This was our first time staying in Ithaca and The Hotel Ithaca was a perfect way to do it. We were in town for a concert at the State Theater and it was only two blocks away. We were able to walk to get delicious Indian food for dinner and ice cream for dessert, plus meet friends for coffee in the morning. The staff was friendly and helpful, able to assist me with multiple asks. Our room was simple yet quality. Would definitely stay again.
