Breakfast and evening meal staff were great. Breakfast was plenty and of great standard. Evening meal had lots of variety giving us choice for the three nights we stayed. We also hired bikes locally that were waiting at the hotel. Charming, authentic, cool place with lots of space to relax. Old but that’s the point as has some history. Walking distance from ferry as we were on foot. Food offerings were great and well prepared. Staff very friendly and accommodating. No rigid rules and they always found solutions. Beds comfortable, amenities were good. Since this is the only hotel on the island, it doesn't exactly have much competition, but it provides a good experience nonetheless. In addition to a hotel, it's a pub, lounge, and restaurant, and there are tables and chairs set up in the grassy yard. The location is excellent; it's up a slight hill from the ferry terminal, which gives the dining area (and some rooms, presumably) a great view over the bay, and it's within 3 miles of most of the points of interest on the island (e.g. Kiloran Bay, The Strand/Oronsay). Dinner at the restaurant was amazing, and the pub features several varieties of gin made on the island. The rooms can be a little small, but that's understandable given the age of the building, and they have clean, modern bathrooms.
