Jacobite's Retreat, 17th century cottage

Constructed in 1672 from stones salvaged from Cromwell’s fort, this historic building once served as a sanctuary for Jacobite's fleeing the Battle of Culloden. Family-friendly and fully equipped, it provides a true home away from home. Its central location is perfect for a city centre break or exploring the wider Highlands, including Loch Ness and the North Coast 500 (NC500).
Located just two minutes from the River Ness, Jacobite's Retreat is surrounded by a variety of eateries, wine bars, whisky tasting venues, and shops. A short 3-5 minute walk takes you to Inverness train and bus stations, offering direct links to Inverness Airport and beyond.

Nothing Better than Jacobite's Retreat!

I cannot say enough good things about this property and the owners. They are so responsive. They allowed us to checkin early. They communicated with us on two separate occasions. We messed up the hot water unit, and were so patient and helpful getting it restored. We were a lot to deal with and they helped us around every corner. The location could not be better.
