Thielsen’s steep summit spire was formed via glacial erosion after the volcano ceased erupting. It’s seen here towering over Diamond Lake from neighboring volcano, Mt. Bailey. Bailey itself is much younger and as such is more rounded on the summit - it has not been as whittled by ice. Easy little drop in on far side (not next to damn) fishing was not good for us but was told if you go out father near the damn you should have better luck. We were the only ones on the water and it was so peaceful.
