  • Situated along the bustling high street, this cheerful second-floor apartment makes a great base for exploring the popular market town of Holt and the Norfolk countryside. Offering spacious accommodation for up to four guests, the property has been stylishly updated to provide a cosy, relaxing retreat. Perfect for couples and smaller families, this welcoming getaway has been beautifully furnished and decorated in fresh, airy shades. Just a couple of miles from the coast, the apartment is ideal for discovering the picturesque villages, charming beaches and idyllic nature reserves of an unforgettable part of the county.

    Two flights of stairs take you up to this charming apartment with an entrance hall leading up to the cheery open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Featuring a low ceiling and big windows allowing plenty of light to stream in, the sweet and cosy lounge is perfect for snuggling back in front of the Smart TV and enjoying a favourite movie at the end of a great day spent exploring this delightful part of Norfolk. There’s a stylish dining table to the side, with a sleek, fully equipped kitchen occupying the rear wall. Exploring further, the apartment has a refreshing shower room and two bright, relaxing bedrooms: a lovely double and a pretty twin.

    The historic market town of Holt has a fabulous range of great restaurants, friendly pubs, interesting galleries and an array of boutique shops for you to browse. The town lies on the edge of the Norfolk Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with plenty of opportunity for relaxing strolls and more energetic walks. Nature lovers can head to Morston Quay (7 miles) to join a boat trip out to Blakeney Point to see the colonies of grey seals. Other local attractions include Holt Country Park, Baconsthorpe Castle and the Mannington Estate, all within 9 miles.

Great location, but could be even better...

The property is right in the centre of Holt, so handy for all the shops, restaurants and amenities. Although the property is on the second floor, this allows a vantage point to people watch, and see the town wake up, or the Sunday market setting up! When we arrived, we checked to see if bread, milk, sugar, tea, or, as we had seen in other welcome packs, a cake... Nothing was provided. Okay, not the end of the world, but it would have been a nice gesture. There was no storage space for food, drinks etc., so this would be an improvement for anyone else self catering. Losing surface space, or leaving items in a bag on the floor was not great. The TV reception was intermittent, but was generally okay. The TV wouldn't switch on with the remote, but by switching off the plugs, and switching the plugs on again, the remote allowed switch on. Little things, like a lack of soap or hand cleaner in the bathroom caused a little bemusement, but we got around it. But some thought on how guests would use the let needs to be given - a shelf/rack blocks the area above the small sink in the bathroom, making it difficult to shave or brush your teeth, or wash your face. Not impossible but not easy! Little things, but nothing that ruined our stay - but it could be better.
