Although it rained a lot because of the incoming hurricane we had a nice time. The residence was comfortable. I spent majority of the time on the front deck listening to the ocean and enjoying the beautiful, October warmth and sun. I checked out the restaurant right behind with takeout- great food, really nice people. Met lots of very kind, local people on our daily dog walks around the neighborhood. It is newly renovated and decorated beautifully. The bathrooms are both en suite with the washer/dryer combo in the master bath, which I found extremely convenient. The location is fantastic. Truly a hop, skip, and a jump from the beach. The view from the deck is lovely and relaxing, but there is no shade, so we erected a pop-up gazebo and created shade and a little more privacy. There were a couple little glitches during our stay, and the hosts were very responsive. Also, Turtle Shell staff are on the property almost daily and are very approachable if you need anything. Two caveats: 1) If cooking is a big part of your vacation, this might not be the place for you, as the kitchen is not well-equipped and there is very little counter space, and, 2) I wish it wasn’t so expensive! ##### Karen D.
