Hillside Cottage in Beautiful Downtown Hermann

Hillside Cottage is a whole house rental in Downtown Hermann. You will have this entire 1300 sq ft home with 4 bedrooms and 2 full baths all to yourselves. The full kitchen has all the appliances, dishes, pans, wine glasses etc. The large dining table seats 8 people and is a great place to enjoy a glass of wine while your friends prepare dinner. The bright living room and open concept kitchen are a great space for gathering with friends with plenty of space for all to enjoy. There is a lovely patio with table and chairs for that morning cup of coffee or afternoon glass of wine. Our home is located downtown Hermann and it is walking distance to shopping, wineries, restaurants, and bars. Come make Hillside Cottage your home away from home while visiting Missouri Wine Country.

Hillside Cottage sits on the side of a hill. Guests must climb one flight of stairs to get to the main floor. There is a second set of stairs to get to the third and fourth bedrooms.

Disappointed

Description of rental didn’t warn you about the amount of stairs you would have to climb just to enter the rental and even more stairs to get to the third and fourth bedrooms. The bedding upstairs smelled musty to the point I bought a different blanket to use. Shower door had to be slammed to close. For the price I was very disappointed.

Good and not so good

The hillside cottage was very convenient to everything we wanted to do. We all have been coming to Hermann for 15 years and needed a bigger place this time around. The Hillside Cottage was ok to stay. Big kitchen as we all cook while we are there. Living room was ok but not comfortable for 8 of us to play games but we made it work. We had to go out and buy toilet paper as there was only 4 rolls when we arrive and that was gone by Saturday night. Bring your own bed pillow as the ones there were not very good. The towel situation could have been better too. I would recommend if your expectations are not high. Its just an OK place to stay. I will end with we stayed at this cottage some years ago and had a much better stay than this time. Something obviously changed.

Wine Trail Weekend

I am with others, when you first arrive it does not look like it was what we expected, however the property was as described. Communication was great! Everything was in great condition, this is a cute place in a great location. As far as bed comfort, it depends on the person. Our bed was too hard for me and I will take my own pillow next time, but others in our group loved them, just a personal preference and it was a short trip so not a big deal. They had everything we needed and then some. The patio was a nice area, we did not use due to the colder temps but would be great when warmer. You can hop on the trolley at the end of the street (probably in front of the house too). We are planning on booking again for another friends get away for this fall.

Good location

This property did the job for our crew on our annual winery trip. First timers to Hermann as a group and the location was really nice with walking distance to bars/food. We also got curbside trolley pick up which was nice. Rose was great and quick to respond. I think the space could use a fold out sofa or a large sectional for groups.

Don’t judge by curb appeal

When we arrived and looked at the curb appeal my heart sank since I am the one who booked this place for the 5 beds. After making our way past the musty smelling basement we arrived upstairs to a cute clean space. We purchased air fresheners and candles and it ended up smelling lovely. Lots can be done with a little paint outside and pulling of some weeds and adding an umbrella to the table. Us 5 sisters had a fun time!

Good time!

This house was a great find! Big enough for 7 mommas on a weekend wine trail of fun. The only thing we noticed with the house, there are no tv's. I thought was kind of strange, but we didn't mind it. The outside patio is awesome. The street is quiet and safe.

Always a good time in Hermann. We have stayed at a variety of places in Hermann and this was perfect for a family group. The front of the property is not the most appealing but the inside makes up for it. It was clean and updated, very cozy feel with plenty of room for six people. The beds weren't the most comfortable, little hard, but overall the stay was just right for a weekend. Really liked having the outdoor patio as well. Price is a little high, but it is hard to find lodging in Hermann that isn't, unless you book way in advance.

Charming and perfect for couples!

Very charming place. Nice outdoor patio area. There was only 6 of us, but would have held 8 comfortably, as there was 4 bedrooms. We got there a little early and met the local maintenance / care taker.... he was super friendly and shared with us about Hermann. We needed to reach out to the property owner before and during the stay and she was very responsive and great communication. Enjoyed it very much!
