Homely Cottage w/ Sun Terrace, Short Walk to Beach
Summary: A beautiful Cornish cottage in the heart of Porthleven, this space is perfect for families, couples & small groups.
The Space: This cottage has been newly refurbished to a high standard, but has retained all of its Cornish charm with loads of traditional features.
Downstairs there is a spacious, open-plan dining area and living room. This features a smart TV with Apps, DVD player and books for entertainment, and a comfortable seating area for relaxing after long days at the beach! Furthermore, there is also a wood burner in the living room for winter stays.
The adjacent kitchen has two lovely sky lights and is very bright and airy. It is well-equipped which includes all the amenities you need to have a comfortable stay, such as dishwasher, coffee machine and microwave. Leading off is a utility room with washing machine and dryer.
The master bedroom has two full-opening sash windows with views over Porthleven and the surrounding countryside. This room has a comfortable double bed and ample storage space for clothing. The second bedroom has a full size bunk bed, so is perfect for kids but also well-suited for adults. Additionally, this room also has wooden stairs leading up to a cosy mezzanine for kids to play in. There is a travel cot and high chair for those travelling with little ones. The bathroom is also on the first level and has a shower/bath unit, so again is suitable for those with little ones.
Outside the front of the cottage is a raised terrace with seating and BBQ facilities (The BBQ is available for use from April to October). This gets great evening light and has views out over the town and countryside. Perfect for enjoying warm summer nights with a drink or two!
The location of the cottage couldn't be better. It is on a quiet street with minimal noise from passing crowds or traffic, but is only a couple of minutes walk down to the Porthleven harbour side. Here there is a vast array of shops, cafes, restaurants, pubs and more. Porthleven Beach is just over 5 minutes walk.
Guest Access: Guests will have access to the entire property, aside from a locked cupboard and small garden area at the back which is still under renovation. Though this is only temporary and will be available in the future.
The Neighborhood: The cottage is set in a quiet neighbourhood.
Getting Around: Everything Porthleven has to offer is easily within 5-10 minutes walk or less from the cottage, but a car is recommended for getting around the wider area.
Other Things to Note: There is no parking on the premises. However, there is free on-street parking right opposite the cottage, as well as additional free parking in the surrounding streets.
The BBQ is available for use from April to October.
We have a ring door bell camera at the back of the house. This area is not accessible to guests, so it won't capture you but we have this for security purposes.
Regretfully, we cannot accept pets due to severe allergies.
Interaction with Guests: We will be available via message, email and phone during your stay. Any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch!

The cottage is super cute and the perfect size for a family of four. It is in a great location, walking distance to the beach, grocery store, pubs, shops, markets, and restaurants. This place was equipped with everything we needed and the kids especially loved the bedroom / loft area. We will definitely be back!
Just a perfect place to stay for our five nights in Cornwall. Porthleven is wonderful, the cottage could not be faulted in any way, our visit was made easy - nothing more to add. Superb
This comfortable cottage was perfectly situated for us and our friends to relax in between walks along the surrounding stretches of the sw coast path. Easy access to the village centre where we could catch the bus to our start and finish points.
This is a lovely cottage, nicely decorated and really handy for the town of Porthleven.
However, the availability of parking is much more difficult than the listing suggests.
Also, despite regular contact with the host (a management company) the dirty barbecue was never cleaned, just blaming a previous visitor and not sorting the problem.
Other things to be aware of are the laundry was not well cleaned and really crumpled and the under sheet was much too small for the bed.
The property clearly has damp as the dehumidifier was constantly filling, this might put some people off.
Finally, the management company shared an image of a fridge to indicate how large it was before my stay. This was not the correct fridge so I brought a food that I planned to freeze for the second week which I ended up throwing away.
This is a lovely cottage in a lovely location but I really feel let down by the host who was not helpful when I contacted them or offered any solutions to problems I raised.

A slice of heaven
I stayed in Porthleven for 7 weeks at this property, and it truly was a home away from home. It has lots of character, is tastefully and thoughtfully decorated, and it has all the amenities which you would require without being cluttered. It is cosy and clean, with nice linens comfortable beds and furniture to lounge on. The terrace gets the sun from 2pm and stays for the whole day. The house is a short stroll to the beach, local village and the start of the coastal paths. I had a wonderful time and I have no doubt everyone that stays here will too.
