Scofield is located just under 2 hours south east of Salt Lake City and is the hidden gem in Utah. This family cabin sits directly on the water for Scofield Reservoir with a private dock. Once here you can discover all of the activities that Scofield has to offer. Try your hand at fishing year-round, go for a hike, drive up to see amazing beauty that the national forest is. We found the cabin well stocked with most needed supplies. Plenty of throw blankets throughout, at least 10 or more. The furnace kept the house plenty warm throughout our Christmas stay and we had the fireplace running almost 24/7\. The main room is outstanding and truly a lodge-like environment. The cabin is less than 100 ft from a small but sometimes busy two-way highway, so nights can be a little loud sometimes if semis are doing night hauls. The location is pretty good, at the far end of the small community. A little close to the road, which normally wouldn’t be a big deal but apparently the coal trains weren’t running so it was all big trucks 24/7.We left our window open all night to keep cool so we heard the trucks. The cabin had all the silverware and pots n pans you could need for a large group. The water level was high this year so it was truly a waterfront experience! We caught fish right from the dock! The cowboy cauldron outside was perfect for cooking 6 racks of ribs. During the week there is hardly anyone else around so peace and quiet. The weekend definitely picks up and gets busy. Kirk is an awesome host and communicates very well. Kinda feels like our home away from home! Locations is great, during the week you feel like you have the Lake to yourself. There is a small Gas Station in the center of town that has a little something for everyone. The owner, Jerry is a stud and is great for some conversation. This next part does not bother us, but should be noted, the road is about 50-100 yards away from the front door. Trucks hauling some type of rock product drive on it pretty regularly and at least during the week (summertime) use it all night long! Here again, we deal with it because of the location, you are literally on the lake....and the trout are biting. We will be back next year for sure! ##### BJ J. Gorgeous view, perfect use of space and layout. The kids loved the loft, the adults loved the living area. Beds were comfortable and 4 bedrooms and 3 pull out sofas ensured everyone had a place to sleep (4 couples, 2 young single adults, and 4 kids). The cabin has eveything you need. Because the water levels were so high this year, they was no beach, but that was fine. I would recommend updating your book of rules to match the instruction on the fridge. They didn't match. We need more paper towels, and it would be a good idea to let the customers know that the ice machine in the fridge doesn't work. We had to run into town and grab more ice and paper towels. This was our second visit to this cabin and it was better than we remembered. Water level is high on, as of 7/2/23\. The main road leading around the reservoir is pretty close, but it did not bother us at all. Being right on the water and the views trump it by far. Communication was smooth and easy. It was supplied with everything you'd need and then some. All you need is your clothes, fishing gear and food. The kids had so much fun with all the fun beach toys and games. It was really good fishing off the dock. I caught the first Muskie 32" made the boys jealous. But then my son in law caught a 36" It was quite the experience. My son caught a 22" cutthroat and we all caught many fish. We're definitely booking again for another family vacation. The cabin and grounds we're amazing. ##### Sherry T.
